2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI was there!!! AND SHE WAS GREAT!!! tRump sounds even dumber in person. if thats possible
At the end, I was able to go to the stage and actually shake her hand. She is a very elegant person and we all should be happy that she will be our next president. In the room her white outfit almost glowed as did she...
tRump seemed afterward to stay only long enough to shake Sarah Palin's hand (I swear) and left the stage area and building quickly.
For some reason they sat President Obama's half brother in the front row right in the middle about 10 or 15 minutes into the debate. A stupid move or was he just late?
I left the debate room and made my way to the huuuuge Spin Room and saw all the usual suspects. I saw all of his surrogates lying the ass off as fast as possible. Sleepy Ben Carson, Omarosa, Huckabee, Boris, Degado, Crazy General Flynn, Katrina, Skelator, and most horrible of them all Goulliani... All furiously lying. I was surrounded by GISH GALLOP!!!
Oh, and I walked past Ed Shultz, being interviewed and I swear he was defending Russia... Does he work for RT now???
I saw that asshole Jesse Watters bothering the very cool and always classy Donna Brazile. She was very calm and collected as she worked the room.
And then I got an Uber and left.

(54,448 posts)Where Bill or Obama own the room when there is a crowd (the bigger, the better), Hillary seems not to have mastered the art. Maybe it's just not in her DNA. But up close, I can confirm (also from first hand experience) that she is warm, sharp, and focused--and every bit as smart as we think she is!

(10,893 posts)you're correct about what happened with Ed Shultz. He does work for RT, and has become a totally different person since his MSNBC days:

He has turned out to be a phony. He was originally a RW radio host, then started acting as a LWer when it was more lucrative. Now, he revealed his colors.

(10,893 posts)a lot of people (myself included), so don't feel bad. After all the times he spent discussing things like voting rights, union rights, and getting tough on Russian hackers, this was totally unexpected.

(62,277 posts)My mom tried to no avail and was really desperate. I tried to pull some strings, calling UNLV, telling them a retired elderly supporter wanted to be there, but I couldn't get anywhere. She sadly didn't win one of the raffles that they were putting out, put her down. She was in no state to actually go there, I mean, it would've been possible, but she'd have need a wheelchair, etc, so yeah...
But congrats on being part of history. It was Clinton's best debate performance yet.

(70,357 posts)until Hillary shook hands with Wallace and then went off stand to the ropeline. He was clearly upset. I did see him shake hands with someone but it was quick and only a backview from cspan.
Anyway, Hillary was smiling away, while the dirty old man trumpy was grim.
Thanks for your

(61,722 posts)It's fascinating to hear all these details. What a wonderful experience!
I have not read anywhere in the media about Obama's half brother being seated late. I'm sure the Trump people did that on purpose. They probably hoped it would cause a scene and rattle Hillary. Instead the media ignored it. Good.
I get the sense that the debate commission is very unhappy with Trump's shenanigans around the debates. They probably don't appreciate the loss of decorum.

(4,220 posts)He walked all the way from the back of the room on house right and then walked left to the center and sat down in a still empty seat in the front row almost right behind Chris Wallace.
If they did it on purpose it was another massive fail; it was too dark to really see and the stage being a bit elevated I don't think either candidate saw it.
Plus why would she care about this person???

(4,220 posts)No one was really doing that when she was by me at the end.
In the spin room I took what someone late last night called a virtual rogues galley of all the tRump surrogates furiously talking (lying)
