After the Fox News chief threatened the governor on Twitter, the two men quickly talked, and Christie got on board

Rupert Murdochs warning tweet telling Chris Christie in the midst of Hurricane Sandy cleanup that the New Jersey governor needed to re-endorse Mitt Romney or be blamed for Obamas re-election got the governors attention.
The New York Times reports this morning that soon after the Fox News chiefs tweet, Christie called Murdoch to tell him New Jersey needed the federal governments help. Murdoch, however, did not back down. The Times says he told Christie he risked looking like a spoiler unless he publicly backed Romney again.
The message got through after several days of embracing and praising Obama, Christie made a point of saying the next day that he was still backing Mitt.
But Republican donors and Romney aides still blame Christie, in part, for a large number of undecideds breaking toward Obama in the days before the election.

(25,415 posts)Who do the Repubs have for 2016 that would be popular enough to beat any Dem except Christie? Mitt was going to lose anyway, no matter what Christie said or did. Mitt insulted too many people and appealed more to older white men.
Repubs that blame Christie for Mittens losing are seriously lacking brains. Bad positions on immigration, women's rights, health care, tax breaks for the wealthy. This is why they lost. Not just because Mitt Romney was a total unlikable asshole.

(328 posts)That fat bastard sucked up to Obama because his party's mantra toward *States responsibilities* in a natural disaster was shown to be nothing but a pipe dream and he needed the Federal Governments' help. So much for the case against government spending...
Now that he has secured the commitment of the federal government, he and his RWNJ (Righ-Wing NutJob - from another post lol )bosses think they can go right back to their usual off-the-wall, facts-be-damned, ultra-wealthy protectionism, political posturing with no consequences way of doing business. The actions by a bunch of red-state governors refusing to implement their part of the ACA is further proof of that.
Problem is, the left will let them get away with it. The left is so used to caving that they cave to the minority. The last 4yrs is proof positive of that. We have got to NOT LET THAT HAPPEN! The Republicrats need to be held accountable for what they do and what they say. THE PEOPLE MUST KNOW!
