Report: Eric Holder To Stay In Obama Administration Beyond First Term

Eric Holder To Stay In Obama Administration Beyond First Term: Report

Attorney General Eric Holder is reportedly staying on for an unspecified time beyond President Barack Obama's first term, according to Fox News.

The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that Holder had accepted President Barack Obama's request to stay on, but the timeline had yet to be settled. The New York Post reported on Nov. 13 that Holder would stay on.

has never reopened investigations into 911. The Justice Department has never brought charges against the Bush Mis-Administration. The Justice Department is totally for the NDAA law.

How many more things would you like me to list?

Sometimes it's more fair to focus on what someone HAS done and not what they haven't.

Eric Holder is really demonized on DU, nobody ever comes to his defense and really analyzing his record beyond his record on weed. I really appreciate you shining light on the good he has done. Thought i was alone on it.

with this news about a week ago (it's in an OP here on DU); no other news outlet picked up on this so, FOX goes with it, followed by the WSJ. Murdoch seems to be the common denominator here. Some of you might remember Hillary's VRWC (Vast Right Wing Conspiracy), it didn't go away when Hillary and President Clinton left the White House.

are going to blame the U.S. Attorney General of the United States for doing his job? That would be a reason to get him fired, if he didn't carry out the laws of the United States. If you want the law changed, then you go after Congress and not some person doing his professional job as a lawyer. Eric Holder is not a politician. The only problem is he shouldn't let Republicans cow him in carrying out Civil Rights laws too, because they are just as important. Maybe he should focus on People like the nut in Ohio and that nut in Florida. If he did that, he would probably have the whole GOP in trouble.

Holder was born in 1951, he is 61 years old.

I think that Obama's short list will have folks on it closer to the age of 50.

Here's CNN article link from last month with a list of possible Supreme Court candidates

Supreme Court possibilities if Obama is reelected
List here: http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/30/politics/court-obama-list/index.html

---

And below is a copy of a DU comment I posted back in September...

We were talking about President Obama's next pick for the Supreme Court here at the house tonight we came to the consensus that there would be only a slim chance that anyone born before 1960 would be appointed.

So, in my opinion, if the next justice is appointed two or three years from now I doubt anyone that was born in the 1940s or early/mid 1950s would be picked.

Sonia Sottomayor was born in 1955 (but was appointed over three years ago) and Elena Kagan was born in 1960.

If President Obama is the one doing the appointing then a couple of folks that probably will show up on his list to consider might be:

Caitlin Halligan, born 1966 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caitlin_Halligan

Goodwin Liu, born 1970 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodwin_Liu

Some folks are rooting for Kamala Harris, bio here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamala_Harris
