Latest Pinebagger News: Whining over maltreatment of Trump (No really, they are)

http://jackpineradicals.com/boards/topic/prediction-they-are-going-to-smear-trump-worse-than-anyone-in-american-history/

"Prediction: They are going to smear Trump worse than anyone in American history.

After hearing his speeches over the past week, it’s clear Trump has the number of the global elite. He is exposing all their crimes, and calling them out for what they are – liars and criminals and murderers. Nobody on the national stage has ever laid it out so clearly – and loudly – as Donald Trump has. The government-financial elites know these ideas are going to take root if they don’t act quickly. You know they aren’t going to sit back and let that happen. I don’t know if they’re going to smear him with accusations that he is racist, anti-semitic, or even that he has committed violent crimes, but one thing’s for sure: The government-media-financial elite takedown of Donald Trump is imminent."

from various parts of the political spectrum, who shifted after the primary to the right-wing so-called "populist" cum now alt-right movement.

Disturbingly, research is showing that people do NOT have an ideology and then choose leaders who fit that ideology. Instead, they choose parties, factions, leaders, and the ideology changes to fit the leaders'.

This would make sense of the astonishing reality that people who once cheered for Sanders' idealistic egalitarian, distributive progressive ideology are now cheering Trump's vicious "battle" against the Jewish one-world conspiracy and to imprison or even execute Hillary Clinton.

supporters and possibly even more over time did shift their support Hillary Clinton, most in the cheerful belief that she also represented a very satisfactory option and a bunch of DUers were/are among them.

So this would apply to the mostly angry anti-Democrat minority who did not, including those of extremist temperament who, researchers say, may shift from far left to far right and vice versa as situations change. As seems likely to have happened with our little group of them here, as well as more mainstream populists.

Vox has a really enlightening article about voter behavior. I'm waiting for a layman's version of the book reporting the findings of a pair of Princeton researchers that it's based on.

Vox: This is the best book to help you understand the wild 2016 campaign
http://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2016/10/14/12663318/bartels-achen-democracy-for-realists

For those interested, here's a 12-page discussion from The Brookings Institution site.

Too much or too little democracy? Some reflections on Democracy for
Realists, By Thomas E. Mann

It should be no surprise that Trump’s march to the presidential nomination took place within the Republican Party.4
As Norm Ornstein and I argued four years ago, the GOP “has become an insurgent outlier—ideologically extreme; contemptuous of the inherited social and economic policy regime; scornful of compromise; unpersuaded by conventional understanding of facts, evidence, and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.” Its deep cultural pessimism, unbridled attacks on government, automatic opposition to and unbending obstruction of the opposition party president, mobilization of populist anger, and then failure to deliver on the “impossible” promises
made to party rank-and-file succeeded in making the country appear ungovernable. What better political environment for an outsider, anti-establishment candidate promising strong leadership to “make America great again”?

have other issues--some of them don't think minorities (and let's include Muslims and gay people in that grouping) deserve a place at the table, that they should take a back seat, wait their turn, etc., and stop being "troublemakers." That was the piece of the whole primary process that really surprised me; that some (a very few, mind you) of people who wore the "liberal" label were only liberal when it came to THEIR preferred issues.

Some of these folks (again, very few of them) came off as flat-out racists to me. I was rather shocked at the fluidity.

indicated by this behavior. Being liberal goes far deeper than a party label or issues positions. We're see these things very differently from conservatives. Just ask our Dem Party conservatives. Also very differently from "fars" of either extreme.

Btw, earlier on MSNBC or CNN someone quoted a poll that 20% of Republicans reject Trump and 13% of Democrats reject H.

This isn't the first poll showing such strong support for H. If 17-21% (the latter # Pew's) of Democrats are conservatives--who normally reliably vote Republican for president, a very important percentage of our Democratic conservatives are rejecting Trump and voting for the Democratic candidate this time. And that's great!

Sun Oct 16, 2016, 10:41 AM
Oct 2016

The media is not "smearing" Trump, they're actually, for once, being truthful about him. Which they should've done during the primaries but they liked the ratings, so they never brought up all his known baggage; the Stern tapes alone should've sunk him, the Central Park 5, building a goddamn wall, deporting millions of immigrants, calling Mexicans rapists, etc, etc.

Would the GOP still have nominated him had the media uncovered all that crap during the primaries? Probably. But he wouldn't have even broke 40% in any polls. By failing to report on Trump's problems during the primaries, the media legitimized him (and yes, the Pinebaggers actually think he was a legitimate candidate, with many arguments "concerned" about him winning).

Now the media is seeing that as far as ratings is concerned, a total collapse of Trump's campaign is just as well, and given how the Trump campaign repeatedly mistreated the media throughout this thing, they have no qualms with actually uncovering his dirt.

Politics is a no-holds-barred sport. It's not for the weak or the thin-skinned.

The Clinton family has endured a quarter-century of ceaseless and baseless antagonism from right wing hate radio and FOX news.

To hear the whining from the Trump camp about a few weeks of documented and authentic criticism of their candidate proves them to be prissy little cowards and not the imagined revolutionaries they fashion themselves to be.

Let the truth reveal itself on a daily basis until around 2040 regarding Donald Trump. THEN complain.

If they are there trying to make people be sensible, then they are in the smallest of minorities. That place is filled with racist, misogynistic, bigoted propaganda. It is worse than frreperville in that these people claim to be something they are not. At least at the usual disgusting sites, you know you are dealing with right wing trash. But the pinebagger folks are as much on the Con as Don.

I was shocked out of my naivete by the anti-Zionist tenor of the large ANSWER Coalition signs and speeches.

As I've often noted, my lifetime on the other side of the country sometimes catches me off guard when it comes to the political culture of the East coast. When I got home, my ex-New York Jewish-Buddhist husband shrugged and said there's always been an anti-Semitic presence on the far-Left in the US. So now I'm aware of it and I notice it.

It is what it is.

I knew it would come to this. After all the finger pointing about 'third way' blah blah blah, about how 'progressively pure' they all are, the masks have come all the way off. I'm sure nobody still here is surprised that all the banned trolls and whatnot have come to love love love Trump and defend him against his own damn stated tactics of sexual abuse and blame the victims. Oh my and the CONSPIRACY THEORIES are just superbly off the fucking hook. From Hillary had her legbreakers rough Bernie up to make him endorse her, to Trump being a misunderstood "Social Justice warrior man of the people fighter of oligarchs", the damn consoiracy theories are mind blowing in their stupidity.

One might think they would kinda like 'notice' that they are actually making exuses for, and supporting a MADMAN with a nuke fetish and roving hand and no fucking filter, but NOOO. They think they are informed and pure and whatever.

So glad they found a home somewhere else.

About JPR is that some of them claim to still support Bernie Sanders. If Hillary Clinton is elected and if she can carry with her a Democratic Senate majority, Senator Sanders then becomes Chair of the Senate Budget Committee and thus he will be one of the most powerful and influential persons in Congress. Every dollar of the federal budget will be under his direct scrutiny and control.

JRP posters are posting about every and every idiotic conspiracy theory out there. I really love the threads about the election litigation lawsuits. None of the JPR posters have a clue as to election law and the threads on the election law litigation are so dumb that they are funny. I really enjoying laughing at these threads

BWT, the JPR are really upset that the reporting on the wikileakes stolen e-mails are not generating any real outrage. It is really sad that they think that the transcripts of Sec. Clinton's speeches to Goldman are not grounds for the DNC to remove Hillary Clinton as nominee and replace her with Sanders.
