The cadence of Trump's delivery is just as irritating as the words he spews

There is just an annoying rhythm to his speech pattern where he drops his voice at the end of every string of words. I can't call them sentences, because he rarely manages to complete one

But he may just be speaking to his deplorables in a language deficit only they, and not us, can understand and relate to.

I'm from the South myself and not bashing it but I'm surprised he hasn't tried faking more of a uneducated, southern accent.

That may be a stretch tho' coming from a big city New York smart-ass that many of his southern supporters formerly despised.

I would think that he has used superlatives all his life. It is part of his over inflated ego, but he was more inclined to speak in complete sentences back in the 80s and 90s and had a softer tone of voice. I wonder when he started with that "whining drop". Maybe when he became a TV star?

I can not find one redeemable quality in Trump.

This includes his children.

Why Clinton praised his children is beyond me.

He has stated he had nothing to do with raising them.

He stated he has never changed a diaper.

He only showed interest when they were old enough to

work for the Trump dynasty.

He is a disgusting human being.

Not a single redeeming quality whatsoever. I think Hillary praised his children because she couldn't think of anything else. Obviously she knows that Trump didn't raise them, so it really wasn't a compliment. Could have been a subtle zinger.

to be just a pretty and deceptively articulate mask for the same nasty attitudes and behavior her brothers display.

Furthermore, Ivanka's husband was a major player in setting up that disgusting pre-debate stunt with those 4 women. I was disappointed to see Chelsea sucking up to her after the debate. I suspect that is a pretty one-sided "friendship" there.

But Clinton had to say something positive in response to the question, and praising the kids he had NO hand in raising rather than Trump himself was as much a backhanded slam as a compliment, if not more so.

Apparently, after the divorce from Ivana Donald Junior didn't speak to his father for a year. I imagine the promise of money and a future inheritance is what drew the boys into Daddy's circle of (evil) influence, though he did always have that weird relationship with Ivanka.

They were obviously raised to be spoiled rich brats by Ivana, but now they all aspire to be Trump's mini-me's.

It is a sign of aggression, but also a sign of insincerity and deception.

Obviously I am not the only one who's noticed it, since Alec Baldwin emphasizes it in his impression of Trump.

If you watch videos from before his campaign, you can see that he didn't do it in regular interviews before running for president. It is part of the tinpot dictator character he has chosen to inhabit as his political ideal.

I wish someone could just slam him under the jaw every time he juts those lower teeth out!

In fact, in the Blues Brothers movie, the preacher in the small church -- played by James Brown I think -- spoke with that rhythm. I think the intent is to be hypnotic. I've always found it highly annoying. Trump's modifications to that style, while minor, make the effect even worse. I don't know if he's trying to do that style but hasn't quite mastered it, or whether he's trying to improve on it (by making it worse), or if it just comes naturally.

Addendum: Come to think of it, the style may have originated from an old method of gospel church singing that originated because they had few hymn books. The preacher would call out the lines one at a time prior to the congregation singing each line. Oh, before that, in the Catholic church, they had a style of prayer where the priest would say each line of a scripted prayer and then the congregation would repeat it. It seems as though when it is adapted for actual speeches, the pause after each line is to give the congregation a chance to say "amen" -- or, I suppose, "lock her up", depending on the congregation.

His lips should not be pushed out so much and held there when he is speaking. The only time he spreads his lips open to speak is when he's wincing and squinting.

His resting face is more of a scowl.

Meanwhile, Hillary seems to be copying Obama's cadence as much as she can. It's better than her former forced preacher style but still not as good as her normal voice when she's not making a speech IMO.

author of new very relevant book Hitler: an ascent from Dunderhead to Demagogue

No secret DT has studied rise of Hitler and apparently applied some of it. I have to admit that early on what he had to say did get my attention - many of us I think -it was interesting to hear and wonder just how far he would push it.

But no more. I cannot tolerate the sound of it anymore - even progressive radio plays way too many clips of him saying the same old crap day after day after day - I just turn it off immediately. Been switching over to classical music a lot more these days!

rather shocking. Even with the worst of the Rs previously you coudlnt really do that without trivializing the holocost/ WW2.

Ive asked myTrump loving sibs how they propose to transport and deport millions of people who cant produce papers -and where exactly are they deported to if/when countries do not want or unable to take them back? And how exactly do we ID Muslims considering there are no genetic dna tests for religion? They dont really have much to say about that except they think Hillary is worse.
