WI: Early, absentee voting strong in county

Clerks throughout Kenosha County are reporting a "robust" return of absentee ballots and a steady stream of in-person early voters.

Salem Clerk Cindi Dulaney said, as of Thursday, 726 absentee and early-voting ballots had already been cast.

"During the last presidential election we had 1,700 total," Dulaney said. "We are half way there with several weeks to go."

Processing absentee ballots in addition to registering new voters is keeping clerks, who are also preparing for upcoming budget meetings and tax season, extra busy. However, they said they prefer voters come in sooner than later.
