After the election will Trump start a plethora lawsuits for defamation of character?

He'll want to get his money back so he might sue each of the women and reporters that said bad things about him.
The damage he can do is not nearly over, even after the election.

That means things like subpoenas of the Apprentice tapes, his bodyguards, etc.

Weird ones specifically aimed at not saying anything bad about him, ever.

Those will go away under subpoena. And his threats of retaliation will be useless in the face of perjury charges.

Trump is fucked. He won't even have his family to turn to, because even they will hate him. He brought this down himself.

The whole point of a defamation lawsuit is to protect your reputation, and Trump has already destroyed his own reputation with his own words. Furthermore, he's a public figure, so he'd have to prove actual malice and not just negligence. And, more importantly, a statement isn't defamatory unless it's false. He might try to sue some people but he won't get far.

I imagine there are a plethora of attorneys who will work pro bono. Seem a pretty slam dunk case in my layman's opinion.

He defamed his character without the help of anyone.

His own words will bury him.

The things he has discussed on the Howard Stern show are

truly disgusting.
