there's no way to know that either candidate won when the vote is counted in secret without a hand-counted audit to verify the result.

In FL it is ILLEGAL to count votes by hand if they have already been counted by an electronic voting machine for God's sake.

I agree with BradBlog. There shd have been a HAND COUNT of ALL the ballots. I feel pretty sure that it would have confirmed the result. I suspect that Murphy would have won be an even larger margin than he did with the purely machine count that is all that is allowed in FL. If West had won, more power to him. He would have been the one chosen by real people in an honest election.

Paper ballots filled out and dropped down a slot that went to a table in the next room with a couple retired seniors sitting at who were hired to then count and tabulate the vote.....when the last vote is cast in that precinct the totals are checked and when confirmed posted publicly....ballots sealed up and voting is finished...all for far less than we spend now.
But that system is hard to game...you would have to bribe too many old people to have any effect...
