I'm in an airport and there is a (live?) speech by Trump that CNN is letting run on and on

NO policy. No vision. ALL he is doing is complaining about the "political establishment," the media's treatment of him and boasting about a lawsuit he is preparing against them. Why CNN is letting this drone on is a mystery to me unless they are deliberately trying to show how empty he is, and as an editorial tactic, that strikes me as a little deeper than Wolf Blitzer's shallow "reporting" has ever gone.

Oh, and now he is dissing Hilary. About how we absolutely need to prosecute her (for what, is not exactly clear) BUT mostly he's blasting the media and claiming that the national polls show him in a dead heat with Hillary.

The American media has been Trump's biggest benefactor, running ridiculous rants like this instead of reporting news. And yet, because Trump is finding himself headed for a train wreck, he feels a need to rag on them for half of the time he is getting this free coverage.

I can't decide if he is really this far removed from reality or if he is just putting on an extended version of his TV show. I sincerely hope that not too many of the people he is addressing carry firearms--or if they do, that they never get closer than within 500 miles of me.

This is a conspiracy ..... The NY Times, Team Hillary, People Magazine, and Barack Obama
are all in on it too.

Christ on a cracker he really is crazy.

BTW no doubt the NY Times will now go out and interview the friends and families of the 2 women
who Trump sexually assualted that they just wrote about.

From the sound of it, if Trump had said that Martians were going to invade the USA tomorrow, but he had his private security on guard to fight them off because Hillary and Obama won't, they would probably be cheering just as loudly.

on the media, as well as the Republican Party. The entire campaign headquarters had erupted in rage over the results of the pussy tape and GOP distancing. He said he'd never, ever seen a campaign react with such fury and declined to speculate on their reasoning, but he instead pointed out where that really nasty (my word) crew came from. Most have spent decades as professional dark propagandists and swiftboaters.

He didn't say, but this isn't just the first time they were ever involved in managing a major political campaign, this is the first time most of these dark operators were allowed anywhere near a major candidate.

Makes sense. A little taste of actual proximity to a potential whirled leader, and these nut jobs cum so often in their tidy whities, that it is as if a playboy model just grabbed their collective crotch.

They are uniformly sick, vile, and misguided, to which one must add, they are 100% certain that they are right and the rest of the whirled is wrong, all facts to the contrary. But facts were never and never will play a big part on their flat earth.

conservative operator of course, on his view of what's happening to his party.

Trump’s surrounded by people who have made a living in the Clinton conspiracy business. What’s the point they’re trying to make?

I think what you’re gonna see is Steve Bannon monetizing 30 percent of the electorate into a UKIP-style movement and a billion-dollar media business.

And I think the Republican Party has an outstanding chance of fracturing. There will be the alt-right party; then there will be a center-right conservative party that has an opportunity to reach out, repair damage, and rebuild the brand over time.

The last implication for it behaviorally is it exposes at such a massive scale and at such magnitude the hypocrisy of the Tony Perkinses and the Jerry Falwell Jrs. and the Pat Robertsons. These people are literally the modern-day Pharisees, they are the money changers in the temple, and they will forever be destroyed from a credibility perspective.

But the defense of Trump, the cowardice of so many Republican elected officials who won’t confront this — what it exposes is political cowardice on a massive level. It exposes a political class in the Republican Party that simply is unfit to lead the country.

As a conservative Republican, I find anathematic the regulatory and tax policies of liberal Democrats. But there’s no question that Republicans — as an institution and what we’re led by — are unfit to run the country, or to govern the country.

You have a massive reckoning coming due that will play out over years on the serially putting party above country. We’ve reached the moment in time that George Washington warned about in his farewell address with the danger of factions. You have basically warring tribes that subordinate the national interest to their tribal interest.

It's a far end part of the American Airlines small plane (American Eagle) terminal at JFK, and at least half of the people here are speaking languages spoken anywhere from the Levant to the Indian subcontinent, so probably connections from overseas just like me. It's pretty loud, but not too many people seem to be paying attention. It's sort of like half of the people here are taking a "oh, this again" attitude, and the other half don't really understand a word being said.

it uninterrupted! Any day now, one of these speeches will devolve into the full-on, raging, hysterical, paranoid, nervous breakdown we're all waiting for. I know I want to see it, even with the tiniest bit of sympathetic pity I might end up feeling for the guy, I still want to see it. Bug-eyed, red-faced, spittle flying, arms flailing, incoherent raging meltdown. Fuck yeah, I want to see that.

Most of what is on tv is at least annoying, at worst offensive, to me. Last week, I was in a doctor's waiting room and the tv was on, at blaring volume, some overwrought soap opera with obnoxious commercials seemingly every ten minutes. I was trying to listen to an audio book, with earbuds, in the far corner of the room, and the tv was so loud it was overwhelming my audio.

If some people want this, they ought to provide wireless headphones.

It's probably more to show how he has nothing except whining and bitching.
