(56,828 posts)Just like 6 investigations into the death of Vince Foster and 9 investigations into Benghazi doesn't stop them from finding something sinister.

(14,274 posts)Using the Starr Report's FBI analysis of Clinton's DNA as its reference, Star paid former prostitute Bobbie Ann Williams, the source for the Globe article, and her 13-year-old son for their story and blood samples. And the result: "There was no match. Not even close," says a Star source. (The Starr Report contains sufficient data to make a valid DNA comparison to rule out paternity.) But if the tabloid was disappointed by the results, it's putting up a good, Brill's Content-ready front. Says editor in chief Phil Bunton: "We investigate dozens of stories every week, and if they don't prove to be true, we don't run them."

(62,444 posts)I've heard this thing from a nutjob with whom I have an acquaintance, but many others may not have heard this asked-and-answered claim.
Threads like this provide a useful reference (per the snopes write-up above) for those who might run into this shit in the wild.

(8,168 posts)I do remember this story now - ancient history - I guess the whackos are getting desperate.
Funny part is - who would care much if it was true - except for said whackos!
jberryhill
(62,444 posts)So you seem defensive of said O/P that doesn't even remind those of us who have forgotten and could care less about said story.
Well, I tried to find common ground - defensiveness is a weird thing.

(62,444 posts)I had gotten a skype message from an acquaintance who is susceptible to these kinds of things about two weeks ago, when it was circulating on infowarts or sludge or something like that.
I had never heard this particular one, and went off searching for whatever became of this one.
I'm not sure what it is you are finding "defensive" in having mentioned that it is useful to post threads about some of the popular stupid stuff on DU, so that others who've been faced with the same nonsense from their acquaintances at least have some kind of "heads up" about what the nitwits are exciting themselves over.
I was answering your question "who would care much if it was true"

(8,168 posts)You knew about this story so the non-referenced headline meant something to you and you expanded on it.
All I ask (and others here too) is that O/P's do that instead of posting a tabloid headline with no explanation.

"Bill Clinton is......NOT the father!"
Oh wait...is that even Jerry Springer who does those DNA tests?

(297,323 posts)evidently is has been debunked.
Despite failing to attract mainstream media attention in its first outing, the Clinton love child melodrama was revisited in the late '90s by the conservative web site Newsmax, whose dogged coverage (amid claims of being strong-armed by Clinton operatives) led to the commissioning of a DNA paternity test by another weekly tabloid, Star magazine. Drudge Report picked up the story at this point, claiming the revelations had "rocked the White House" and would lead to a "paternity showdown."
But no showdown occurred. Contrary to expectations, the paternity test determined that Bill Clinton was not Danney Williams' father, Time magazine reported on 18 July 1999:
