Couldn't be 'cause they're stupid like he is?

They only think someone else would win because of the bogus hate machine against her.. but I think she would shine through that.

Romney won the majority of white men AND white women. Trump is down to angry white men only, and that's because of Hillary and her strong campaign and loyal supporters.

And because Trump shows his very worst side against a woman. No man would have brought out and exposed his inner character the way Hillary does.

How could most white Americans back a ticket with Palin, never mind the other guy on her ticket, the one running for president. I'm white, and I still have a problem with white people..

But now there is great hope:

Romney in 2012, most white people voted for him. Most white people voted for the rich guy who said 47% of Americans are freeloaders. The rich sometimes pay no income tax, maybe mostly.

White people have little political common sense.

My asshole conservative coworkers have been silent for about two months. I think they know what's going to happen.

During the primary one of them said Trump could win New York in November. HA HA HA! I think he got it from Drudge.

The unrepentant Bernie supporters in my Facebook feed are saying the same thing.

That being said, let's be clear: she is unpopular. Her favorability rating remains under water by double digits (by contrast, at this point in the 2012 election cycle, Mitt Romney -- Mitt fucking Romney -- had a favorability rating of about +3%). She's facing the least popular major-party candidate ever, one who is patently unqualified to be president, who is no longer supported by large swaths of his own party leadership, who has no ground operations to speak of and who is in full-blown meltdown mode -- and yet, she's still not on track to do better than Obama in 2008, let alone achieve the big victories associated with her husband, or with George H.W. Bush in '88, or with LBJ.

So, yeah, a Republican who was disciplined, who knew how to actually run a campaign, and who wasn't batshit crazy (and yes, some exist) might well be beating her right now.

With women, likability is at odds with ambition. Men can be perceived as ambitious and still be likable -- but that's not the case for women. Women are disparaged for the same qualities -- being outspoken, being assertive -- that are valued in male politicians.

I just think denying the reality of her favorability rating is not a good look for us; we're the reality-based party.

I sometimes can't help but think about her favorable numbers, and wonder how a Republican who wasn't a simpleton and had at least some political experience would've fared against her. There might not have been as much organized unity against the GOP nominee as there is now. Fortunately for us, there weren't enough sane-ish R's to push a better candidate over the edge in the primaries. Once this election is over, it should be fun to see whether or not the GOP learns from this and tries to prevent another Trump-type candidacy within their party, or if it's too late and they let the loonies run the asylum.

just about a race between two people. As much as media would like to frame it this way, this race is also about two entirely different philosophies, two sets of priorities, two records of governing, two histories of statements, two voting records. Any republican would have a hard time defending recent history of individual republican officials and the party overall.

There should be more discussion about the poor republican record and about its extreme current platform. Enough of the comparisons of stamina, temperament, politifact ratings, etc. between the two candidates. We have the picture. Let's hear about the differences between platforms.
