I think Trump intends to make the whole election such a sewer he could win with low turnout.

I think mostly he is flinging poop everywhere because he's an undisciplined maniac.

But I do think there could be a glimmer of strategy that if everyone gets disgusted enough and weary of it, if non deploreable people respond with weary disgust instead of righteous anger at him, that he could get close enough to win.

I think he's down in way too many states everywhere for it to work, but nothing should be allowed to diminish a huge win and repudiation of the GOP and fascist politics, as well as reclaiming Congress.

He's going to get swamped by massive Democratic and Independent voting against him, precisely because voting against him seems like such an emergency.

He will only depress turnout among his own soft supporters, who will assume he is going to lose. It's almost as if he couldn't pick a worse strategy than that.

Black, Hispanics, and Asians aren't confused.

Most women (especially educated ones) aren't confused.

They're all horrified and motivated.

He keeps trying to win this election the way he won the primary, his great political achievement. He can't figure out why it isn't working, so he just pushes harder.

It works.

Trump is the manifestation of every crackpot rightwing meme they have ever come up with - facts have nothing to do with what 'they' know is true.

At this point, it's only about 2 out of 10 eligible voters who profess undying support for Trump.

However, as we are well aware, if 50% or fewer stay home, that 20% becomes 40-50% of the turnout - and we lose an awful lot of elections.
