Republicans at war on Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton surges in polls

The Republican Party descended to the brink of an unprecedented civil war against its presidential nominee Donald Trump, as a new poll showed Hillary Clinton on track for a huge election win.

In an unravelling crisis just four weeks before the election, the conservative party's most senior leader in Congress, House Speaker Paul Ryan, told colleagues he would not defend or campaign for Mr Trump.

The about face gave Republicans campaigning for seats in Congress next month cover to ditch their support for the controversial candidate. Instead, worried Republicans will focus on trying to retain their slim Senate majority, a goal Mr Trump's presence at the top of the ticket gravely threatens.

In an unprecedented sign of disunity between a party's presidential nominee and elected leaders, Mr Trump fired back at Mr Ryan on social media. "Paul Ryan should spend more time on balancing the budget, jobs and illegal immigration and not waste his time on fighting Republican nominee," Mr Trump tweeted. Financial Review

Georgians want to get onboard. It would be a big incentive to have someone from the ticket helping to GOTV.

And yes, I loved seeing her this way. It's been a long road. 28 days to get it done and I'm not quitting. It's a sprint to the finish with her.
