McCain looks smarter for changing his mind. Republicans don't like people who evolve their position though, they think it's "flipflop".

I thought it was totally gutless of the so-called Republican leaders to give Comrade Trump a free pass when he has trashed our American armed forces and the men and women who have served in it. How can the Republicans claim to be "patriotic" and support this Chickenhawk Casino Chump?

That's the way the game is played: He calls women fat and rates them despite being a lardass with the fat-stacked face of a balding, sunpocked orangutan and the nonexistent jawline of a trash barge. He calls Hillary a bigot despite...being a bigot—or even worse using other people's bigotry to his advantage. His spouses have an expiration date and he cheats on them, but Bill and Hillary who've stayed together for decades through rough waters are the ones who deserve scorn. Hillary must reveal her emails while he claims his tax returns are private despite being informed by eleventy-billion authorities including the IRS that there is nothing keeping him from revealing them. He enjoys talking about groping women, but doesn't feel at all bad about paying Bill's accusers to walk around and sit where he tells them and cause a scene like the little remote-control objects he thinks they are—and threatens to do worse if *his* past is brought out.

It must be really stress free to have no self-objectivity.

Notwithstanding that you were copping to sexual assault by copping feels, you are explaining that this so-called "locker room talk" is okay no matter when or where you engage in it, just so long as you identify it as Locker Room Talk.

As with so much of what comes out of your mouth, that's just stupid.

I used to hope that she was going to have an aha moment and declare she was now a Democrat, since she was always decrying the Republican party as being out of touch. But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. She said how "frightening" it would be if Hillary and the Democrats controlled the WH and Senate and House.

And yet she is still seen as an "almost-Democrat" or as a moderate to many conservative leaning Democrats. Almost like 'wink wink' she actually is more liberal but is only hanging onto her Republican card because of not embarrassing her dad.

But she could be the new face after Trump loses. She could be a great recruiter for the next evolution of the Republican party.

They tend to be more socially liberal but fiscally conservative. I think there are still that kind out there (a number of whom recently publicly endorsed Hillary). But in order to still be "accepted" by those who hijacked their party and maintain "street cred" as a "conservative", they all have to knee-jerk insult some Democrat du jour.

Part of what happened to them is that they looked at those Democrats who were "moderate" and similarly "fiscally conservative", and that caused the most vocal partisans of the GOP to demand that they move the GOP further and further to the right and away "from the Democrats", until they became what they are today - outright fascist.

It's remarkable to see that after 30 years, the GOP has thrown everything that Reagan promoted, under the bus in their "war against everyone not them". And some are trying to resurrect the Reagan Republican sentiment... But most of those policies (even when altered) were a failure the first time around and would be a failure a second.

that he's insulting one of the "better", most senior standard-bearers of their party? What happened to that?

McCain is a decent honorable man, and I say that as a life-long stubborn liberal. I disagree with almost everything he stands for but GOD DAMN IT, he deserves respect. He has spent his life in public service. Every repub I know loved the guy, admired him (until he put Palin on the podium, lots of them hated that). Point being -- where have their fucking brains gone?

If this was a candidate of my party, insulting and rudely disrespecting a good committed person who has done so much, I'd be kicking up a big ol stink about it. Why are they silent. Why do they put up with this crap.

Hillary Clinton

I guess McCain is afraid of tRump, because whenever I've seen McCain NOT commenting on a tRump attack, he pivots away from tRump then starts talking negatively about Hillary Makes no sense at all.

Democrats should STOP saying that tRump is wrong for attacking McCain, because while tRump is dead wrong and a coward for doing that because McCain didn't skip out on his military duty like tRamp did, McCain in turn shows his thanks by commenting negatively about Hillary most often.

Democrats/Hillary just--just stay mum on McCain and defend the countless other veterans out there who tRump attacks on a constant basis.
