(9,796 posts)...I'm really, really hoping it's Santorum or, better yet, Gingrich.

(53,061 posts)Is Romney going to open his mouth again in the next few months.
The nomination is his but he is very skilled in talking people out of it.
If it isn't Romney there will be a draft.

(17,656 posts)Today Santorum will win a close caucus race in Louisiana, thus making Gingrich irrelevant.
If Gingrich doesn't drop out by April 1st, Santorum has zero chance to stop Romney of becoming their nominee.
Because the next elections held next month will belong to Romney.
He will win all 3 primaries held on April 3rd.
In Maryland, Wisconsin, and Washington D.C.
Romney will have built up a lot of momentum heading into the very next primaries.
However, they have to go 3 weeks until those next primaries are held!
So, Santorum will go though his drought period in April, the same way that Romney went through his drought period in March, and pretty much the same way that Gingrich went through his drought period in February.
On April 24th, in what is being billed as the Northeast Super Tuesday, Romney will win big in 4 of those 5 states, and maybe even pull off a win in Pennsylvania.
Those 5 states are Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.
Santorum will be much farther behind by the end of April than he is now. I doubt that he will drop out by the end of April though because he likes the idea of being on tv.

(11,550 posts)It was always his race to lose. I'm very glad his co-nominees have done a good job of beating him up for us!

(97 posts)I predict it will be Romney, he has what the republicans love so much, money and lots of it. Lucky for us, most Americans aren't fooled by what the republicans say, so President Obama is going to win big time. No matter how much the republicans tell us the economy isn't getting better, people know that it is. It may not be going as fast as we like, but when President Obama was handed the controls we were so far down in a hole. Meanwhile Obama rolled up his sleeves and got to work, then in 2010 a bunch of stupid people gave the gop the house, despite that we have managed to still make progress. Just imagine if we get the house back by 2016 this country will finally be on the right track. Once we can make the rich pay their fair share and stop letting them live off the backs of the poor things will improve greatly. I am so excited about what can happen if only we win big!

(15,071 posts)bigoted, anti-women, anti-gay, angry white men are running the GOP now. They vote and the primaries have a long way to go.

(22,000 posts)The Republicans picked their nominee even before the primary started.

(1,570 posts)if Santorum can win Wisconsin the primary will go the distance. Romney will still win the nomination but he will be an even more damaged candidate.

(8,224 posts)will be the "presumptive landslide maker" for 2012. It is a shame because I think Icky Ricky could have given the repugs their "George McGovern moment" (losing very badly with a candidate the party activists truly believe in). Unfortunately, we will never know.
