2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumPelosi IS pretty old ...
and I love it!
I just looked up her bio. I had honestly thought she as 10-15 years younger than her actual age.
The only problem, she is making a pretty good case for the retirement age to be increased to 67
It might be hopelessly superficial but I do have to say- she looks GREAT for her age and is more proof that forward thinking progressive people come in all ages!

(135,425 posts)She had some work done a few years back; it has settled in nicely. She'd look her stated age, I'm thinking, if she hadn't taken advantage of surgical options.
That said, Luke Russert is an asshole.

(30,947 posts)But even if Nancy had work done, that's great. I am 73 years old and wish I could afford to have surgical work.

(653 posts)I thought she did a heck a of job. The House passed massive amounts of legislation - some that died in the Senate.
And I think she knew that the Dems in the House were going to take a hit in 2010. But she soldiered her troops on to try as get as much done as they could.
I thought the question about her age was disgraceful. It shouldn't matter. All that should matter is whether she's capable of doing the job and with that, does she have the support of her colleges. Apparently she is and does.

(292 posts)Russert had so much handed to him- I wish he was more deserving of his father's legacy as a journalist.

Granted, I'm over 50 so my definition of "hot" may differ from someone else's. But all politics aside, I'd rather look at her than John Boehner.

Not just because of her looks but also because of her passion, intelligence, depth and compassion

(11,441 posts)67 IS the full retirement age for many Americans, and that's high enough.

(32,084 posts)Waitresses, firemen, construction workers, and others who are on their feet all day, or do heavy physical labor come to mind. It's ridiculous to expect them to work until they're 62, let alone 67.

(25,364 posts)I had always thought she was a baby boomer.
Then one day I looked up her bio.
She's been active in politics most of her life and is also the mother of 5 children.
I see Nancy as a trailblazer.
