For months, polls have shown that Donald Trump will require a white supermajority to offset his historic deficits among African-Americans and Latinos in order to secure even a narrow victory in November. Its now becoming clear that Trump isnt hitting the numbers he needsand that one demographic is standing in the way of the plan. The main factor behind [Trumps] underperformance among white voters, according to a Monmouth poll conducted over the summer, is his lack of support among white women with a college degree.
Educated women, it appears, are defecting in droves from the GOP, and the numbers are stark.

Any Republican left who still thinks voting for Trump is a good idea, just ask yourself: If you had a daughter, the things that he has said to female journalists, if he said those exact things to your daughter, could you still vote for him? - Politico
Educated you say, defecting from Donald and the GOP. Yeah, I can see why!

(13,340 posts)...just told her Trumpster parents that she will not be visiting for Thanksgiving or Christmas this year becuase she cannot respect them if they vote for Trump.
It's tearing her up, but she feels very strongly about it.

(22,671 posts)They've fallen under the spell of RW TV & radio, saying mean hateful things about PBO and democrats of every sort. Can't put those words back in, once they're out in the open. Shameful. If they could just hear themselves.
She might draw comfort and support from knowing there are perhaps millions of others like her going through the same thing.

(13,340 posts)but fortunately, I do not have to deal with that. None of my close friends would dream of voting for Donnie and the Deplorables.

(5,591 posts)Our countries future is at risk. This isn't McCain or Romney. Trump is a white nationalist and his majority of supporters are white supremacists.
I feel so badly for your friend. It must be awful learning that your parents aren't who you thought they were. At least they raised a great daughter.

(13,340 posts)... as she told her parents, Trump behaves in a way that they taught her was not only unacceptable, but (and she used this word) deplorable.
I have to say it's times like these that I am glad I do not have to worry about those conflicts. I loved my parents, but they were suckers for this kind of BS.
