No, Mike Pence, It Wasn’t Hillary Clinton Who Agreed To Pull Troops From Iraq In 2011 -HuffPost

One of the first barbs Indiana Gov. Mike Pence threw in the vice presidential debate on Tuesday was an unfounded allegation that Hillary Clinton is to blame for the current chaos in Iraq because, as secretary of state, she failed to negotiate an agreement to leave U.S. troops in place there.

“Iraq has been overrun by ISIS. They failed to negotiate. Hillary Clinton has failed to renegotiate the Status of Forces agreement,” Pence, the Republican vice presidential candidate, said.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Clinton’s running mate, quickly jumped to her defense, interjecting that the Status of Forces agreement was the responsibility of former President George W. Bush.

Kaine is right.

Clinton had little, if any, role to play in the agreement that dictated how long U.S. troops could stay in Iraq. - HuffingtonPost

Poor poor Mr. Lying Pence wasn't able to defend or play off his rehearsed script. The audience didn't see it and the instant polls didn't see it, BUT WE DID. Mike is blank faced liar.

I realize the Republicans wants to rewrite history but it is a no go. Obama used the date by Bush plain and simple.

Every time I hear a Republican criticize Obama for pulling the troops out of Iraq (leaving a vacuum), I want to scream. This was not something that Obama had much control over. They wanted us out and we had an agreement.

It's just like the whole argument that during Obama's tenure, the debt had doubled, more people on food stamps, etc. etc. What do you think is going to happen when you inherit the near catastrophic economy that Bush left. It takes money to generate money. What we had to spend to get the economy back on track, we are still suffering from. Just ask yourself if the debt would be anywhere near where it is if we hadn't faced a Bush generated economic meltdown.

Dems need to remind people of these two points and never let them forget that they are the result of Bush policies, PERIOD!

that completely blows past the fast that ISIS wouldn't have been able to use Iraq as a staging ground for said chaos if Bush hadn't blown up the place first. Not saying SH was a great guy or anything but, through the UN, we basically achieved the stated goal before we even invaded.
