Benghazi needs to be investigated (and it is) and the WH will release the findings when its complete. After all involved are exonerated we can move on.

but I think we're not really agreeing, if I'm reading your other post in this thread correctly.

My comment was asking why bother having an investigation if the results will be that no one was responsible for anything? Why would anyone assume, before an investigation, that will be the result?

The purpose of an investigation is to determine if there was a failure by someone at some point, in some fashion. Not necessarily a culpable guilt, but a break-down of procedure or something similar that needs to be rectified in order to help prevent a future tragedy.

Deciding before hand that no one will be found culpable in any fashion (exonerated) makes an investigation moot, and at that point it would be easier to just say "no one is responsible for anything to do with this incident" and move on.

That wouldn't be right, though. Regardless of what the RW is squawking about, people died and their deaths deserve to be investigated - if only to assure that whatever the causes, they are anticipated and addressed should they happen again.

If we are talking methods and procedures so - Never This Way Pass Again - then I'm for it.

ETA - We might disagree on what we are looking for though - PCIntern sums it up pretty well right here -

You're correct that we are probably a bit at odds over intent - I always lean more toward the "if you hear hoofbeats, think horses not zebras" philosophy (unless you're on the Serengeti, of course), so I'm rarely convinced that there is a grand plan about most things.

Obviously, I could well be wrong and hopefully the truth, whatever it turns out to be, is revealed.

was doing in Benghazi, particularly about the smuggling of Libyan missiles and terrorists to Syria and elsewhere within the region

If the Administration were forthcoming about that, and candidly revealed what U.S. policies and actions were (and are), then this would go away.

The President has this under control and he can multitask really well.

I hope the Republicans keep talking about Benghazi - makes them look like idiots.

in the empty heads of the right-wingers echo chamber. Lots of bouncing around space.
They will continue their conspiracy-laden redux in an effort to justify the pasting they got in the election.

The TRUTH is above their paygrade.... and comprehension.

Imagine using Facebook "likes" as a measure between two competing ideas and one set of ideas gets a majority of the "likes", the loser says, their ideas weren't rejected, it was just that the other ideas got more "likes" .... maybe a dead giveaway why they lost ? Head in the sands of denial syndrome.

So here comes John McCain, why is this man still given so much credibility anyway ? and his co-hort Lindsay Graham fighting a desperate fight to hold on to the last vestiges on an era gone by, when affirmative action meant "For White Males Only". They don't care about the election results, it didn't mean much to them beyond saving their Alamo from being overtaken by "others". These people are like rabid dogs, they believe it's in the best interest of the public for them to keep attacking Obama, even after 4 years of doing so turned against them.

Nothing would please these die-hards than if they were able to convince enough of their flock that impeachment hearings should be convened, just find a good enough reason. With the GOP congress job approval rating in the toilet bowl, and with the election outcome data clearly showing that the Grumpy Old Patriach party has lost ground across nearly every voter demographic, and with the real threat they they face in potentially losing an entire generation of young voters, they persist going down the same road that caused them to lose the most "likes".
