(5,478 posts)Of course, a turnip could have done better than tRump did, but that's beside the point.
Not only did Pence throw him under the bus, he did it better than tRump would have. Don the Con is going to have some busy little tweeting fingers tonight!

(81,419 posts)representing Trump. He was making the case for himself - four years from now. He probably knows they're likely to lose. So he's now looking out for Number One. Even while playing this pious sanctimonious "maturity" act. One of them actually declared that the big loser of the night was Ted Cruz!
Typical republi-CON/CONservative with that lovely, altruistic classic Ayn Rand worldview: in it for himself. But then again, isn't that the essence of being a republi-CON/CONservative? You help YOURSELF. You're in it for YOURSELF. Screw this unity stuff and come-together stuff, it's about you pulling yourself up by your own boot-straps. Every man for himself, and selfishness and self-interest is the name of the game! Seriously. Are they expected to be their brothers' keepers? Why do they have to be their brothers' keepers? Hillary says "Stronger Together." The GOP says "it's all about ME." With a nominee who says together-my-ass - it's all about ME! I'M the ONLY one who can fix it (whatever "it" is)!
They're the "I/Me" party. Democrats are the "We/Us" party. So childish.
MAN what a thin skin The Donald has!

(22,898 posts)I guess that makes sense, in a topsy-turvy trumped-up world.
Makes me all the more convinced that this is The Twilight Zone.

(19,566 posts)I read the "Trump" tweets tonight. They didn't read like him. Someone was in control of his account during the debate. Nothing too bad came across, but it was almost believable. Unless you've been following his Twitter for awhile you may not notice the change.
On edit: I'm saying this here because if it were Trump tonight he'd have been pissed when Pence wasn't outright defending him. Instead he was praising Pence.

(19,566 posts)It still didn't have his usual candence. It came close once, maybe even twice, but that was all.

Loved Kaines zinger about Donald's personal Mt. Rushmore of dictators he admires.
