With only five weeks to election day, we may have reached the point at which there will be a new damaging revelation about Donald Trump nearly every day. Following up on the weekends New York Times story about Trumps colorful tax history, today we get this story from Garance Burke of the AP. Here are some excerpts:
In his years as a reality TV boss on The Apprentice, Donald Trump repeatedly demeaned women with sexist language, according to show insiders who said he rated female contestants by the size of their breasts and talked about which ones hed like to have sex with
Eight former crew members recalled that he repeatedly made lewd comments about a camerawoman he said had a nice rear, comparing her beauty to that of his daughter, Ivanka.
During one season, Trump called for female contestants to wear shorter dresses that also showed more cleavage, according to contestant Gene Folkes. Several cast members said Trump had one female contestant twirl before him so he could ogle her figure

(52,243 posts)i do think trump's particular overt sexism would cause unusual damage.
i think there would be an increase in sexual harassment in the workplace; quite likely an increase in rape, etc.
it's possible to advance social issues without help or even in spite of efforts of an unfriendly president; but i see trump's active contempt for women doing real damage beyond what any other republican would do.

(29,047 posts)but in my opinion, Trump is normalizing hateful rhetoric, which makes him worse than many other Republicans. Even Bush made attempts to use respectful rhetoric.

(19,066 posts)The SCOTUS will take away some of women's most valued rights under Trump, this is by far the most important election to women in this country in a century.
