Corpus Cristi's Caller Times: Our support for Hillary Clinton is enthusiastic

That we endorse Hillary Clinton for president should come as no surprise. There really is no other choice. And that's unfortunate — not because, as many Americans have allowed themselves to be led to believe, the country desperately needs a viable alternative to her. It's unfortunate because of the shadow it casts upon the former secretary of state/senator/first lady's genuine worthiness to be our first female president.

She is not, as has been sold, a mere lesser of two evils. Her experience and intellect would make her a standout in any group of candidates. Like President Obama said and didn't need to be fact-checked, she's more qualified than him or her husband.

We have reservations about the next presidency that have nothing to do with Clinton's abilities, personality or transgressions. Our concern is about the enormity of the task of leading a nation so polarized that angry factions are likely to dispute the election's outcome no matter who wins......

Finally, the unqualified endorsement I can share enthusiastically.

and the Caller-Times was the newspaper I read in my youth. I'm certain that some of the regular RWers that post comments there will be canceling their subscriptions.

It not only makes a superior case against Donald Trump, it also debunks a whole ton of libelous, slanderous untrue shit that's been spewed about Hillary Clinton.

This morning I'm hearing all this riffing about the "many scandals" of the Clintons - theft from the White House, Travelgate, and more - ALL OF WHICH WERE DEBUNKED, LONG AGO!!!

And yet I find myself thinking - "keep it up, Donald. Keep it up." That shit, especially when he starts in on Hillary for maybe cheating on her husband - O. M. G. Oh. My. Sweet. Freakin'. God. Good Grief!!! Say what you will about Hillary, but in all this time, there has NEVER been ANY indication, EVER, that she cheated on him. And considering how her opponents have thrown everything at her including the kitchen sink, fridge, microwave, stove, oven, cabinets, flooring, and dog-door leading out to the back, that's one thing that has NEVER come up. Probably because it's an absolute nothing-burger - the same as all the other so-called "scandals" around her.

NONE of these accusations against her has ever checked out. And for Pete's Sake, you'd inevitably figure that BY NOW somebody would have found something, SOMEWHERE. Hillary once stated - in answer to one of the never-ending questions about all their so-called "scandals" - that they weren't just the most investigated couple, but they were also the most exonerated couple.

In all this time, when their VERY partisan political enemies have literally spent at least two DECADES doing everything short of combing through their bellybutton lint and sniffing around inside their underwear drawers, NOTHING has ever turned up. NOTHING that was prosecutable. Nothing that ever stood the test. Nothing that ever held up to scrutiny. And they're still pressing this shit - long after it's been debunked.

I wouldn't be surprised if the GOP started bringing up not only the alleged trashing of the White House but also the purported theft of all the "w" keys from all the keyboards in the White House offices as dubya was preparing to move in. ALL OF THAT, TOO, turned out to be bullshit. But they're counting on the average low-information voter to swallow this shit whole, without even chewing a little.

And amen. I loved seeing an endorsement without the wholly unearned, yet seemingly obligatory "for all her faults" included in nearly all the positive ink. It's so intellectually lazy. What candidate EVER didn't have faults? If it's an innocuous comment, wouldn't that mean it should be included in each and every endorsement anyone ever wrote? But it isn't. It's the Hillary Special. -not to mention they are just piling on a bunch of old unfounded smears.
