2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumtRump Tax Returns: Why these particular three pages?
In all the discussions I've read today, I haven't seen these points raised although people seem to be beginning to ask the right questions. I can only come to one conclusion.
First, the Times is reporting that accuracy of the pages has been confirmed by the accountant who signed at least one of them (see The Time I Found Donald Trumps Tax Records in My Mailbox).
Second, there seems to be no IRS issue, since all three pages are from state returns and not Federal returns.
Third, the pages do not appear to be leaked from any state tax department since the pages are from three separate state tax returns. I don't pretend to know the laws in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut, but here in Illinois, the state return is based upon and the filed Federal tax return.
Fourth, as pointed out by one of the reporters in the article above, the New Jersey page is signed by both taxpayers and the acccount who prepared it.
Fifth, when pressed if there were more documents, a NYT reporter simply responded, That may be a no comment." (UPDATE: Here is the link to the "No Comment" story - Uh oh: New York Times reporter hints more bombshell Trump tax documents are coming )
Conclusion: I think the release of these particular pages was a conscious choice (either by the sender or the NYT reporters) to send a huge but quietly implied message to tRump that they have more, and not just drafts or file copies.

Another stupid campaign tactic that backfires.

(2,315 posts)having nearly a $1 BILLION loss goes against one of his primary personal boasts (and obvious lies) that he is UUUGLY RICH. Boasting about the looks of his revolving wives and making sure the rest of see fits his profile. Letting us know he is a loser doesn't.
Just my take. Thanks for posting.
