Could this guy be the perfect replacement for Sen John Kerry?

Michael Everett Capuano;

Michael Everett Capuano is serving his seventh term as a Representative in Congress for Massachusetts' Eighth District, which includes Cambridge, Chelsea, Somerville and approximately 70% of Boston. He is a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the House Committee on Financial Services. In November of 2006, Mike was appointed to head the Transition by then Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi as Democrats prepared for a majority role in the 110th Congress. In January of 2007, Speaker Pelosi appointed Mike to chair the Special Task Force on Ethics Enforcement. In March of 2008, a resolution establishing an Office of Congressional Ethics was passed, involving non-Members of the House in ethics matters for the first time in history.

Since there are ongoing speculation about John Kerry being seen as the right man for the Secretary of Defense job I felt we should also be looking for a solid replacement for him so we don't get caught with our pants down, now is not the time to let up.

Exactly, Coakley only lost because of poor campaigning. tarheelsunc Nov 2012 #9

I really wanted him to win the nomination to go against Scott Brown, the one that Coakley got and pissed away with an incompetent campaign.

I don't know why people feel a Democrat can't beat Scott Brown. Capuano can, Deval Patrick can, Rachel Maddow can. And now more than ever, since Scott Brown has the "loser" tag applied to him, any real Democrat who connects with the state who doesn't get lazy and feel they can win without campaigning will win.

run against Scott Brown. I think he was substantially weakened by his run against Elizabeth Warren.

and learn from the mistakes they made during the primaries. Nothing wrong with losing the first time especially to someone as solid as Warren.

I've just heard good things about him and maybe we should take another look at him, unless we have someone better.

But he had a lack of money and the DNC had to help him. Hopefully they will have someone that will get a lot of support because I really think John Kerry is the next Sec of State or Defense. But one never really knows....

Which he might, since he only has 2 years left and says he won't run again (I guess he is not term limited?)

with one going to the Senate and one for the Governorship. Not bad, all this is speculation of course.
