I think the Democrats should keep an OFA-Like donation pipeline open ....

I would continue to give ten dollars here, ten dollars there, if those donations went towards promoting our different Liberal causes on public media .... on a regular basis.

One thing that has been lacking from the Democrats as a PARTY; using the power of modern media to provide explanations of our philosophical positions to young voters .... Using the media, like Obama for America and Priorities USA have this campaign year, has been quite effective in changing minds .... and I think it could be expanded for issues that affect us, day in and day out ....

Now would be a good time to strip away more of that 'lost generation' of voters from the GOP .... Go after them by going after GOP IDEAS, while also promoting the hallmarks of a successful middle class: Affordable college, good jobs with good benefits and world class wages ..... and perhaps even provide an opening for INCREASING unionization ....

The iron is hot - Strike it !

I would pay for that, little amounts here and there when I can ....

as far as how to build the party.

He was willing to do it for the long term but all the individual campaign committees did not want to turn their money or their donors over to the party so they could use it build on.

During the election I had $10 automatic donation going, and then gave more whenever I could. I would be happy to keep the $10 being automatically deducted and then giving more if possible when a big drive came along as long as the thing was run reasonably well.

He said that they would not pass on OFA to the next candidate.

does this mean that they only work with the next candidate of their choosing or would they just be selling it?

Certainly Obama will remain neutral in the primary. I would hope OFA helps whomever the GE candidate is.

During the election the organization is Obama for America
During the non-presidential election the organization is Organizing for America

One of the things they need to do is be more consistent during the non-presidential election in terms of using the organization to help elect candidates and pass legislation. It seems to have fizzled a bit after the health care bill passed.
