Oculus founder Palmer Luckey's role in Clinton smear group remains murky

" The man who's become the face of virtual reality is apologizing -- but not for his decision to fund a Hillary Clinton smear organization.

On Thursday, The Daily Beast reported that Oculus founder Palmer Luckey, 24, was the mysterious "NimbleRichMan" funneling money to a pro-Trump organization called Nimble America. The Beast's source: Palmer Luckey himself. "I thought it sounded like a real jolly good time," Luckey, who sold Oculus to Facebook for $2 billion in 2014, told the online news site."

Palmer Luckey: The Facebook Near Billionaire Secretly Funding Trump’s Meme Machine
Palmer Luckey—founder of Oculus—is funding a Trump group that circulates dirty memes about Hillary Clinton.
GIDEON RESNICK BEN COLLINS 09.22.16 8:00 PM ET

A Silicon Valley titan is putting money behind an unofficial Donald Trump group dedicated to “shitposting” and circulating internet memes maligning Hillary Clinton.

Oculus founder Palmer Luckey financially backed a pro-Trump political organization called Nimble America, a self-described “social welfare 501(c)4 non-profit” in support of the Republican nominee.

Luckey sold his virtual reality company Oculus to Facebook for $2 billion in 2014, and Forbes estimates his current net worth to be $700 million. The 24-year-old told The Daily Beast that he had used the pseudonym “NimbleRichMan” on Reddit with a password given to him by the organization’s founders.

The Rift can go to hell IMO after seeing this info about its alt-right loving creator!

He is getting some much deserved blowback over this too, just posted a story about it.

what Sony, Microsoft, Google, or even Apple will do. By that I mean will the develop their own or align with an existing platform

I feel the same way now about Oculist, since this came out. Samsung has aligned themselves with them, so maybe they will catch fire
