Should Hillary just ignore Lester, and speak only about topics she chooses?

That's what Sarah Palin did to Gwen Ifill, and Trump will likely do on Monday, with at least the Gishgallop to end all Gishgalloping.

How will the media treat her if she does it?

Does she have a strategy along these lines.....at least to deal with Trump when he starts doing it?

Inquiring minds, and all that

The worst thing would be to give credibility to any of his lunacy, If he says there are 1,883 murders per year committed by illegal immigrants, don't get bogged down debating the exact number. Just move on to something else.

down, first by Lauer, then, most likely by Lester?

do you think he has any pretense to being an actual journalist, or will he follow in Lauer's or Bernard Shaw's footsteps and make another mockery of the moderator's role?

not looking forward to this, and won't be watching

lots of Monty Python episodes to watch, in celebration of Terry Jones

4. She should if, as the debate goes on, she doesn't get the topics she wants discussed brought up.

I may join you in not watching it live and just catch up the next day on the highlights. If it's said she killed it, I'l watch the whole circus the next day.

Besides, I have a paper to write.

that only works if you a Republican.

If a Dem tries that, they'd get called out in a heartbeat

Lester will be thinking twice about what a similarly embarrassing performance might do to his cushy career

that is, unless he's following the orders from on high, which I suspect is what Lauer did

8. I'm not sure the moderator has a whole lot of control.

If someone wants to ignore the question and talk about their own topic, even when called on it by the moderator, what recourse does the moderator have? Unfortunately a lot of what we do is dependent on civilized behavior.... Really unfortunately.

the speaker is not speaking the truth, as Candy Crowley did with Romney

she got a LOT of shit for the just about the only real journalistic act of her career

Dumbo called her Dolce, didn't he?
