Reid Knocks Trump Over Tax Returns: They'd Reveal He's Not That Rich!

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) ripped into Donald Trump in remarks from the Senate floor Tuesday, calling Trump a "scammer-in-chief" and accusing Trump of not releasing his tax returns because they would reveal that he is not as rich as he says he is.

"He was born with an inheritance but lost his daddy's wealth," Reid said. "That's why Donald Trump won't release his tax returns. That's certainly one of the reasons, of course. He is not worth nearly as much as he claims to be."

Reid mocked Trump's business abilities, including his bankruptcies and the Trump ventures -- like Trump Steak and Trump Magazine -- that have gone under.

"In lieu of real business success, Trump resorts to scams, like Trump University," Reid said, pointing to the various lawsuits and investigations surrounding the Trump program.

Reid alleged that, with all the litigation surrounding his past ventures, "Trump, being the flim-flammer, he just moves to another scheme."
