Could this be a early October Surprise?

In opening arguments in the criminal trial of the George Washington Bridge lane closure scandal, federal prosecutors said Monday morning that David Wildstein would testify that he told Gov. Chris Christie about the scheme to close lanes at the bridge at the very moment traffic was at a standstill in Fort Lee.

"The evidence will show that ... they bragged about the fact that there were traffic problems in Fort Lee and that Mayor Sokolich was not getting his calls returned," Assistant U.S. Attorney Vikas Khanna said about Wildstein and defendant Bill Baroni.

Wildstein's attorney once suggested "evidence exists" Christie knew about the traffic jams. The former Port Authority executive, second in command at the bi-state agency, pleaded guilty last year.

Being Christie was one of Trump's closest surrogates and that their lying ways are stacking up. Could this be that early October surprise that pushes sensible American voters away from the Orange Man?

Trump disabled by a mental disorder that's supposed to be obvious to anyone who's been through kindergarten (it is), or Trump as a predatory scumbag bully who makes up excuses to not pay people for their labor didn't do it, Christie's not going to matter.

BUT, hopefully it will further demoralize some on the right by shattering their image of a hero and thus weakening support.

Otoh, those people are massively mind-fucked these days, so who knows? Our neighbor at the bottom of the drive tells us Hillary is dying; she will die before she and Kaine are sworn in, and Obama will replace her--the law of succession clears the way. (Btw, he and his wife feed our pets on and off whenever we are away and check out any strangers who display an interest in our end of the road, and they both love to chat gardening on their deck surrounded by beautiful garden, or on our porch overlooking ours. Gotta speak up for them. They're good neighbors.)

...the fact that Christie is an advisor and surrogate won't have any impact.

But since neither is true - no. However it is still quite fun to see Christie squirm.
