Great summary of Trump voters..

I read this in the comments section of Huffington Post by a person called Ricardo Hinkle. Not sure if it's acceptable to copy and paste, but this seemed to sum up the voters effectively:

I believe Trump voters are mainly motivated by these five things:
1. Racial Resentment: White Americans concerned as their majority evaporates and their privilege declines.
2. Fear of Foreigners: Americans alarmed by the false appearance of exploding immigration and international chaos.
3. Anti-Elitism: Non-college educated Americans drawn to Trump's 5th grade vocabulary, grammar and syntax.
4. Working Class Anxiety: Skilled workers - mainly white - alarmed by their declining wages and living standards, and easily manipulated by scapegoating solutions.
5. Sexism: Patriarchy-loving Americans who distrust ambitious and strong women, and prefer "strong" men.

sure, they like to pretend that we're the elitists and that we lord our, whatever, against them.

but that's rarely the case. giving some credence to research and expertise isn't elitism.

elitism is dismissing other people's points of view simply because they live in cities, went to expensive schools, live near the coast, etc., all while claiming that the people who don't are the "real americans" living in the "real america" representing "real american values".

has obama ever claimed to be superior and dismissive of others simply because he went to harvard law school? not that i'm aware, and he's certainly a skillful enough politician that i'm comfortable saying "no". but the right wing has spent at least eight years now dismissing him as illegitimate. it is they who claim superiority, they are the elitists.

... Going for him in Nov...

1. Racist voters
2. Sexist voters
3. Scared voters
4. Isolationist
5. Anti establishment voters
6. Clinton (both Bill and HR) haters
7. FOX viewers
8. Talk radio listeners
9. Traditional republican voters
10. The media's support
11. Diebold
12. Republican Administrations in state govt in many swing states.
13. Voter suppression laws in some swing states.
14. Low information voters

To be sure, there's plenty of overlap in many of these categories - but taken as a whole it adds up. It is foolish to claim it's over, trump has no chance, and that HRC will win on a landslide. Make sure everyone you know votes.
