by then hadn't done too much harm. I figure that'd be more than enough time for an alarmed populace to vote to block them in Congress. Notorious RBG would die in office before she resigned, and perhaps others.

As for our grandsons and possible wars as they come of age, one set of parents is fairly well connected and heeled and should be able to avoid a draft. The other grandson has dual Danish citizenship through his mother. That's my major worry, although major, devastating strikes on America's infrastructure would be possible.

I've been wondering, though, what if conservatives aren't hitting bottom yet with Trump/Pence? After all, nobody thought their nice neighbors could be anywhere near crazy enough to vote for them, yet at least 50 million will, or rather vote against the devil Democrats.

What if the factions Trump empowered, funded by, say, the Koch alliance, were able to put in a COMPETENT, CHARISMATIC version of Trump with the help of our conservative neighbors who have become hard wired to vote for anything against Democrats?

We're going to elect Hillary and never have to know. I once thought W was bottom for mindfucked conservatives, though...

for the causes, policies and issues I believe in.

It's unrealistic to think the USA will NEVER have a Repub president ever again, or a Repub House or Senate. And it's unrealistic to think USA will never have a a DEM president ever again, or a DEM House or Senate. It will.

We only really get two options--R and D. When swing voters get sick of Ds, they vote Rs, and when folks get sick of Rs, they vote D. Really, it's out of my control--I only get one vote in a very Blue State. I will vote for DEMs in my state (CT) but it likely won't swing the balance in any branch.

That being said, I don't think Trump wins. If he does, well, it will suck, and the country will be worse off for it, but another election will be here before I know it to try and change things I disagree with.

1. adjust my 401k from my diversified portfolio into bonds with fixed interest rates.. low but at least I won't lose everything when the market crashes.
2. As his mouth and actions reduces this country's stature in the world.. take some personal solace in dishing out all of the well deserved "I told you so's".
3. Do every damn thing I can to energize people for the mid-terms.
4. Hope his popularity rating goes so low that congress will not work with him, and makes him a full lame duck within a month of his taking the office.
5. Hope against all hope that the liberal wing of the SCOUTS AND Kennedy survive/remain in the SCOTUS until that creature is out of office.
