2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSo I turn MSNBC on for the first time in ages...
And the first thing I hear is Andrea Mitchell denigrating HRC over the NY attacks. Serves me right I guess. Turned it off again.

(26,268 posts)Although I do really like Joy Reid.
Chris Matthews "interviewing" style sets my teeth on edge and I can take or leave Chris Hayes.
Most nights I can tolerate sitting through Rachel's long wind ups because once she gets to the meat of the topic, she's still pretty good. Lawrence O'Donnell's show is always a hit, with me.

(10,005 posts)MSNBC is in battle to stay on cable and the staff are just hired hands hoping to keeping their paycheck or medical benefits.

(12,904 posts)I just don't need that aggravation to know how to think.
Too much fluff, not enough stuff.

(68,867 posts)Andrea Mitchell made me turn the TV off after less than 2 minutes of turning it on...if that! She has a gift with being able to do this; have people turn off their TV!
Laffy Kat
(16,383 posts)With all the stammering and blank moments, but now with her obvious bias on top of everything else, she's simply not watchable.

(6,974 posts)And always has been to me a Hillary Clinton hater who doubles as a third-rate reporter.

(31,235 posts)Never have. Cannot stand her. People should shut her off, and let NBC know why.

(5,611 posts)painfully awkward -- honestly I have no idea why MSNBC keeps her on the payroll. I also agree with other posters here that MSNBC changed its tone dramatically during its daytime programming -- I can't watch it at all during the day, and I can't stand Chris Matthews these days. I started watching his show during the 2000 election and liked him then. Now he is just unbearable. If I watch television news at all I watch CNN (in limited doses) -- mainly Don Lemon.

(17,066 posts)that she paused for no reason during her Hillary bashing and got this slight grin and a gleam in her eye. I actually thought she was going to say something positive or at least neutral about Hillary to try to give the impression of impartiality at the end of the bashing of Sec. Clinton. But the reason for her softened expression soon became clear. SHE WAS PIVOTING TO TALKING ABOUT TRUMP. Time for a
whole new persona now that she was talking about the charming one.
I never watch her but have read about her here a few times. I found out exactly how bad she is.
She must really think her audience is stupid.

(5,049 posts)To be honest, the CNN daytime lineup is more progressive than anything MSNBC has to offer.

(16,383 posts)Since I work shifts I am able to turn on the TV during different times. Even though I'm finding most all cable news intolerable, I can watch CNN the longest, which still isn't saying much.
