Trump would start war with Iran and Russia over some adolescents' rude gestures at our warships, or a perceived decrease in respect from Putin. Or perhaps start war with North Korea and China over Kim Jong Un's insults.

Goldwater didn't even begin to be in that category.

I have 3 grandsons who will be draft age just in time to inherit what the next president leaves. It must be a more stable, more hopeful world. Not a second Vietnam. Not the U.S. the one opposed by a 100-nation coalition. Or worse.

Trump is without doubt the least qualified presidential nominee in my lifetime, and this is without doubt the most terrifying election in my lifetime.

I live in an extremely conservative county and this week avoided a regular luncheon with a group I've known for years because I just really didn't want to talk with some of them. Normally I'm able to "sympathize" with their problems with Trump and try to shine a light through the open door to their left, but people are all firming up their votes about now and...just no.

...that we feel it necessary to change our activities because of such division in our country. I too have had to cancel events and certain activities because of Trump... And I live in California.

See: http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/09/where-republicans-stand-on-donald-trump-a-cheat-sheet/481449/

You would never see this any other election year where so many elected and other high level Republicans don't support the nominee. That should be a big warning to anyone thinking of voting for him. He's so bad that those folks aren't supporting the nominee of their party where in all other circumstances they have.
