You realize that most TVs in the USA are not tuning into politics, right?

We're in the bubble here at DU, the political junkie bubble.

That's not where most of the country is. Only 1.9-million Americans are watching cable news at any given moment, and that's all of the cable networks combined. On a day like today, Americans watching TV are obsessed with our national religion - football - or one of its many sects (like baseball). And football runs continuously on Sunday, from 1pm - 11pm EDT.

Chuck Toad and MTP, and the the rest of the Sunday political gasbag shows have as much allure to the average American as does an end-of-the-worlder preaching in an Iowa cornfield.

When it comes to political awareness, most Americans are more interested in what Colin Kaepernick is doing today than what either POTUS candidate is up to.

We saw such a great speech from President Obama.

How do we get that message out to the mainstream crowds?

be it left wing or right wing, and add a link to President Obama's speach. You could even rename the link to bait people in to clicking it.

In fact, most households get their news from the morning, evening or nighttime news broadcasts on ABC, CBS, and NBC. One look at ratings an viewership demonstrates that any one of those three major networks have enormously larger audiences than all of the cable news programs combined.

We make a mistake if we think most people pay as much attention to politics as we on DU do. A big mistake.

Tune in your local Network Affiliate during the morning, evening or nighttime news broadcasts. You'll join millions of others who see the news that way. You'll also see the advertising for campaigns. They know what people are watching.

Most probably listen to the local news in the morning. If they haven't left by the time the local news is over and the national comes on it just stays on the same channel. The afternoon is pretty much the same thing. They turn it on to which ever channel the show they will be watching later on is and leave it there. Late nite just the local news. I was thrilled to see some of dipshit's antics on one of the channels. But that took his bs at the hotel to get them to run something like that.

Then most will not watch and only get who won afterwards. Much like football that's how they decide.
