On Saturday, the Times published a story digging into Trump's reliance on tax breaks to build his New York real estate empire. It put the total value of tax breaks on Trump properties at at least $885 million.

I'll never understand how his supporters do not realize that he will destroy them at the drop of a hat if it will help him, just like he's done to everyone else he's ever dealt with.

Trump has been sued or is facing new law suits to the tune of 3,500 times .... Trump himself has
sued other people or companies 1,500 times. It will be news when he isn't involved in a law suit.

Who are supposedly dying to file a defamation suit?

Any lawyer worth their salt knows that for a public figure to succeed on a defamation case on a matter of public concern, he has to prove that the statement that was published was actually false and was published with actual malice. I just read the NYT article he is complaining about and I can't imagine too many lawyers are anxious to bring a defamation case.

He isn't into the first amendment, and he's not going to be their friends if he gets elected, even if they are the ones who get him there. I don't believe for a second that his lawyers thought they were going to win a defamation case against the New York Times, but this shows how he'd like to deal with inconvenient press. With authoritarian silencing tactics.

Here's to the times actually vetting this clown, and here's hoping some of their colleagues (especially the TV Networks) decide to follow suit.
