5. Media should have shut down birther lies from the start, not wait until now

Had they (and the hypocritical craven Repub politicians) forcefully called it out and exposed it as racist from the start, it would not have gained credibility to the point that recent polls still shows majority of Repubs and vast majority of Trump supporter still believe the lies.

I don't know if it is ratings or ideology...but it is dishonest and many so called journalist or even commentators have lost all credibility.
