Good to see Jesse Jr. doing well. Too bad Sheyman is trailing, though.
Don't know enough about the rest of the candidates.

Sheyman might do better in a few years with a little seasoning.
good to know Foster is likely a good candidate.
I thought I'd heard Duckworth was on the conservative side.

(31,706 posts)As long as she votes Nancy Pelosi as Speaker and replaces that deadbeat POS Walsh she will do a lot for that district. Raja tried to bomb from the air with lots of TV commercials and robocalls that I think did more to hurt than help him. Tammy had a lot of name recognition and this was definitely a case of selecting the candidate that had the best chance of winning. Duckworth should beat up Walsh real good...

(18,402 posts)It was a poll they did for MoveOn.org, and it was apparently an outlier.
Frankly, I never expected this district to vote for a 25-year-old. That's a tough stretch for a lot of people, especially in well-heeled communities like that where many of the voters have kids who are older than the candidate. Besides, this is a district that's sent a Republican (Mark Kirk and then Dold) to Congress for the last dozen years, and that's with the help of Democrats. It's been redistricted, but I don't think enough to change.
But not to worry: he's got his name out there now, and he's got plenty of years to get into the political business.
