Yawn

You know I love all of you but some of you need to learn some stress management. Are we really stressing out about someone getting overheated, in a large crowd, in Summer? Are we concerned that Clinton is somehow actually horribly unhealthy or are we just upset that the Freepers are going to cream themselves over reading the Drudge headlines? In terms of actual health implications, I couldn't be more unimpressed. I would rank it somewhere between stubbing your toe and getting the sniffles. But in terms of the more mainstream media reaction....meh. Its the anniversary of 9/11, hadly the biggest story of the day. Some people might make a big deal (in fact of course they will) but Clinton could blink and they would treat it like Watergate. Don't worry about what the fringe elements think. The average voter is unlikely to give two shits about this. No one is going to be in the voting booth in 2 months thinking "I want to vote for Clinton but 9 weeks ago she got a little weak kneed in a large crowd outside in the summer...guess I have to vote Trump".

Look, I know its early, but I might recommend that some of you go get a drink. There are times during an election where it is healthy to stress a bit and then there's whatever this is.

What kind of idiot would say well, I better vote for a racist maniac because of Hillary's health rumors?

These are the same people that a few years back were claiming that she was a devil worshipping lesbian that killed one of her husband's advisors.

It's probably because of several decades of elections under my belt, but I expect this stuff, knowing that watching the election seismograph each day is not what makes an informed observer, and often quite the opposite.

Chill.

I'm also 65 and very susceptible to heat/humidity ever since I gave myself heat exhaustion working outside in the garden
in 90 degree weather about 20 years ago. Ever since then I can't handle heat/humidity and my tolerance is getting less
as I age. I pay attention to it. I wear a hat; I stay in the shade. If I start to feel overheated I get inside right away.

to the dailykos article and checked their source, which was buzzfeed. https://www.buzzfeed.com/rubycramer/why-hillary-clinton-doesnt-sweat?utm_term=.bsdeellZv#.lsdAAaa1M

I don't feel comfortable making the assumption presented by dailykos and I'm tempted to remove my post. What do you think?

It was about 85 degrees, partly cloudy, low humidity. I had a t-shirt and shorts on, and a large bottle of water. After walking around in that for 3 hours, I felt awful. I felt sick and dehydrated and came home and slept for about 3 hours. I'm a healthy 30 year old. I am not overweight, I have normal blood pressure, normal blood glucose levels, normal blood iron levels, normal blood protein levels, etc. It happens. Its summer and people get overheated. Hell, my cat is 4 years old and it happened to him recently too.

This really comes down to people trying to be experts in something they know nothing about. Same thing when the Supreme Court hands down a decision, suddenly everyone is a Constitutional lawyer or when a new poll comes out, everyone is a statistician, or with Clinton's emails, the internet is filled with cybersecurity experts. If one of Trump's white supremacist supporters over at the free republic who barely passed high school wants to flap his gums and claim to know anything about medicine, let them. Its an echochamber. The average voter has no idea these alt-right sites exist, let alone wonders over and reads all of their bullshit.

And I don't mean that in a good way.

On the other hand, this gives the usual "concern" suspects another opportunity to out themselves.

If you're on this site, you're part of the .01% that lives and breathes politics day in day out.

Yeah to us this is bullshit.

But the average person who gets their political news from the evening news in 5 min blurbs? They see one of the candidates fainting/stumbling. It is NOT helpful.

This shit matters. It also raises the stakes if she has another stumble or something remotely related to her health.
