Where's the Trump TV Ad Campaign?

I'm not seeing it. What I am seeing, and frequently, are the brilliant 30-second ads from the Clinton campaign that let Trump speak for himself. That series of ads is forever green, and can be used, in rotation, throughout the campaign. In each of them, Trump damns himself with his own words. No strategy for ads could be any better, in my opinion.

The bottom line is that Trump does not have a budget large enough to compete for the eyes of the major network TV-watching public. Clinton does have the funds. Trump, himself, has depressed donations from typical Republican PAC donors. They may be funding the RNCC to try to keep Republicans in their phony baloney House seats, but they aren't funding Trump's ads.

As the campaign proceeds, we'll see the Hillary ads, but rarely the Trump ones. We'll see Trump looking like a bully, saying incredibly stupid things and mocking people in Clinton's ads. That's how we'll see Trump on the major network news shows, through those outstanding Clinton ads.

It will have a marked effect. And that effect will grow as the campaign goes on. You'll see Clinton's ads in every battleground state and also in states that are in play for Congressional seats. They're running now, and will keep running. There's an endless supply of embarrassing, stupid Trump statements on video. They're rich fodder for a long, long series of ads on almost every subject.

Trump is going to defeat himself, with the Clinton campaign's help. There's going to be a depression in voter turnout, but it is going to be on the Republican side. More importantly, in many states the local Republican Party is out of money. That's true in Minnesota, I know. the MN GOP is almost bankrupt, and can't even fund ads for its own state and federal legislative races. the Democratic candidates in MN CD2 and CD3 are advertising heavily, with support from the MN DFL Party and the DCCC. Ads for their opponents are nowhere to be seen. Both of those districts can be flipped this year, and are likely to be, if Republicans stay home in November.

So, where are Trump's ads? They're nowhere. They're nonexistent in most markets. Trump is so screwed going forward. He'll be seen in ads, but they'll be Hillary's ads, where it will be seen as the doltish, orange-haired moron that he is.

Keep on truckin', Hillary. Just keep on truckin'!

4. I've seen one, maybe two Trump ads in Michigan. Hard to tell because I hit the mute button.

Lots and lots of Hillary ads but I don't know if they are Michigan specific, or ads that are running on national networks like TNT. This morning, every single ad break on TNT contained a Hillary ad - the Veteran ad and the one featuring Republicans who say they do not support Trump.

Anyway, every break had a Clinton ad. I thought it was genius. She is not airing any commercials tomorrow, so get them all in today!!!

Not so much a fan of the Michael Moriarty seasons because he was so blaaaa. Once Sam Waterston started as Jack McCoy, I was hooked. Partially due to my decades long crush on him. But the truth is, I love each and every version of that show.

But I bet a lot of that money they raised last month has helped him increase his income through all kinds of shady accounting procedures. One thing for sure he is making money off of this campaign, and that we all know is the trump "bottom line", making money.

Paying for ads, or actually having people on the ground, would cost money, money he has plans for after he loses in November!

8. If you want a good political ad you have to pay people, good people, to make it. Trump don't pay.

I think a lot of GOP ad teams/political consultants that would be doing spec ad's and looking for work from the campaign don't want to do it the usual way for several reasons
1. They think he won't pay them.
2. They don't like him.
3. They think he will lose (and then not pay them)
4. They think he will not pay them.
It ain't easy trying to be Deadbeat-in-Chief.
But seriously could you do any work for Donald Trump and think you'll actually get paid within 30 days of invoicing?
These operatives will go work for solid GOP Senate and Gov campaigns this cycle so they can make their mortgage payments

although the vast majority of ads have actually been by Toomey since earlier this summer. Literally non-stop including on the local news radio station here.

I have not seen one Trump TV ad. I've seen plenty of Hillary and Russ Feingold. Once I saw an ad for Ron Johnson. But no Trump

Why should he spend money on ads, when they give advertising to him for nothing?

Here's a chart breaking down each campaign's ad spending by state for one recent week. It shows that the campaigns have different views about prioritizing.

The summary at electoral-vote.com:

Look at it this way: Trump's top three states in order of spending are Virginia, Colorado, and Nevada, which together have 28 electoral votes. Clinton's top three states are Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, which together have 67 electoral votes. It appears that Trump is going after the smaller fish, which Clinton's data say are lost to him anyway, and he is letting himself be outspent in crucial Florida by almost 5 to 1, and in very swingy North Carolina by almost 4 to 1. It is an unusual strategy, but maybe Trump knows something that no one else knows.
