Related: About this forumEd Schultz: "Clinton...manufactures news to vilify Trump and connect him to Putin"
Very sad to see what's become of are Schultz, who used to be a staunch liberal host on MSNBC who aired before Rachel Maddow. He now works for Russia Today.
He tweeted this out today:
The #Clinton campaign continues to manufacture news to vilify #DonaldTrump and connect him to Putin in order to win the election.
https://twitter.com/newswithed/status/774289604555993089
He also says Russia did not hack the DNC, and that Hillary isn't having to face tough questions because, unlike Trump, she refuses to come on RT.

Seems he'll go wherever they'll pay him and parrot whatever political ideology expected of him.
All those years on MSNBC he was just playing a blue-collar, pro-workingman progressive on TV literally.
What a "nothing-inside-of-him POS.

(42,862 posts)... it's because of his baritone and nasal-y tenor, his cadence along with that folksy and repetitive way of berating and griping. The first time I ever heard him speak, I would have sworn it was Rush Limbaugh.
Now with his love of Trump and his Hillary-hate... it will be even more difficult to tell the two of them apart.

I guess he'd rather sell out than make an honest living with his law degree. I guess talk radio/tv is a lot easier for him.
I'm really disappointed.

If Trump did buy him, I wonder what his price was. Whatever it might have hypothetically been, Trump will stiff him for it anyway, so the issue is hypothetical in more ways than one.

(6,133 posts)In fact, he has been a true liberal since 2004 when I started listening to him..well long before I listened.
I remember Ed from his liberal beginnings. He reminded me of Rush in his delivery. I had a hard time warming up to him. He became big time Union, and pushed it like powerful, like no one else.
I really don't know what is happening with him now, but I also hate what he has said, now.
Thom at RT would not change his principles for money. Ed, I would not be surprised if he did.

(10,893 posts)Clinton campaign is manufacturing things to make Trump to look like the bad guy by using his own words. That makes total sense, "Big Eddie".
It's a shame to see Ed turn out to be a phony voice of working class Americans. I used to like his MSNBC show and I once respected his devotion to voting rights on there. I never would've thought he'd be a Trumpanzee.

(54,436 posts)A friend of mine used to be on the hour before him, and I was once in the MSNBC studio with her. We saw Ed Schultz being carefully groomed by the barber and make-up staff in a special room. I asked my friend (her name is Krystal, in case anyone used to watch The Cycle) if it was OK to say hello, and she whisked me and my family away in panic. She said Ed Schultz was very weird about talking to people he had not carefully prepared for, and got very flustered in spontaneous situations. I found this very odd for a journalist, but Krystal insisted he was very weird that way, and it would not go well if we interrupted his session at the hair salon.
So, I can't really make a comment one way or the other, but I can add my personal observation, and let those who are familiar with his show draw their own conclusions.

Just a wonderful down to earth woman. She did a masterful job of juggling her family life with MSNBC while she was there. When O'Donnell had his accident in the USVI, she cut short a dinner date with us to go help fill in his slot. Her husband has a lot of business around the world, so it wasn't easy, but she was a dedicated member of that show, really put in her time and paid her dues, and I've never seen her in a bad mood--stressed, yes, but never angry..

(54,436 posts)Sadly, she is not as visible as a media star at the moment. She could still decide to come back, but would only do so if offered a decent gig. The abrupt cancellation of The Cycle left a rather bitter taste, and it would take some doing to get her back to MSNBC. Unfortunately, I don't think there's another channel she would even consider working for, so don't expect to see her onscreen any time soon. Of course, sentiments at large media outlets can turn on a dime (see how long Ailes lasted in his steel-protected position once the harassment allegations turned out to be true?), so never say never. If she tells me anything of significance that I am allowed to post, then I will.
As you can see, her opinion as an outspoken advocate is still being sought: http://www.rawstory.com/2016/09/the-truth-hurts-democratic-strategist-crushes-trump-rep-over-clinton-deplorables-comment/

(32,886 posts)Sure there was a smidgen of Russian propaganda but OK, you expect a little from any media funded by a country.
I think it is around when Putin won the Presidency again in 2012 that it started to go downhill quickly, as did things in general as far as the Russian government goes.
