National polls are the least thing to worry about

Because they're reflective of absolutely nothing when it comes to how voting is done.

The old adage will remain true; all politics is local.

This is why people that are concerned about them tend to not be taken seriously. And when you factor in the sheer number of polling outfits out there, and the number of them that are leaning in certain directions or have very poor accuracy, they're simply fudging the bigger picture.

They want to keep it a horse race no matter what, to keep eyes focussed.

Got to keep peddling laxatives and Depends.

in early because voters will not be 'in town' on voting day or are except from 'in person' vote due to age/disability need to be scrutinized.

Recent Federal court ruling noted some kind of problem with those ballots. someone at the LOCAL level could easily mail in several hundred or thousand to change a local county vote tally.

It's also very easy to register someone to vote (plenty of people, 40%? never register or vote) without their knowledge. Then request a ballot and vote in their name.
