BOTH during the week AND on Sunday. We'd actually get some interviews with meat in them, instead of softballs, kid gloves, and puff pastry.

I think she's FABULOUS. I used to like her during her first round in the early afternoons on MSNBC. But that was a tiny pebble compared to the Rock of Gibraltar she's turned into. She's SO much better and more powerful now. She's better than EVER! She does need to be on weekdays. Preferably in prime time. I'd give her Chris Hayes's timeslot in a heartbeat, to put her on in prime time.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way she shuts down the rude filibustering motormouths for Trump. Does NOT let them get away with anything! She doesn't even let the "Democrat Party"-spouting CON idiots get away with that! Freakin' FABULOUS!!! I swear, there have been some moments when I've watched her in action and it literally made me jump up outta my chair and cheer out loud! I think I'm gonna dig up a spare Valentine card and send it to her to say thanks for the "Democrat Party" shut-down.

She even gave Amy Goodman some attention on the Native American protests in North Dakota - which has gotten NO coverage whatsoever in the mainstream media, at least that I've seen. Amy Goodman lacks pizazz so she'll never make the majors. And it's unfortunate, but that's how that world turns. Besides, I think if she were coiffed and styled and the network makeup artist took a turn with her, it probably would turn off her core audience. They'd see her as a sellout.

DO NOT HESITATE TO TWEET YOUR APPROVAL!

I say we replace them both and give her 2 hours to work her magic. I also loved how the 2nd hour tonight was more human interest stuff & real news; an hour of hard hitting politics and then an hour of NPRness but on the TV screen. Very, very cool.

I love radio because it is so in depth, and that's also why I love 60 Minutes, but Joy manages to bring all of that to a simple hour of news & politics. I hope she gets the opportunity to keep that kind of format going.

That was GREAT! I'm white, but I was inspired by Lt. Uhura, too, when I was in grade school, being totally mesmerized by the original "Star Trek" series. It signified a future where women would be members of the senior staff, as equals. Of course, the "Star Trek" universe would eventually include a Black captain AND a woman captain, as well.

"Star Trek" ROCKS. From 1966 to now. And beyond.

And the secret to her awesomeness?

She prepares and she listens.

She knows her shit. She has an amazing array of facts in her head and at her fingertips.

And then she actually listens to what her guests say and, when warranted, she then follows up with pertinent, incisive questions that relate directly to what they just said. She doesn't stick to a script or get so stuck in her head thinking about her next question that she can't do the follow up that is needed. That's why she's so good at shutting down the bullshit.

I ADORE her!

You just nailed it. She knows her shit, she listens, she knows her shit, she pays attention, and she knows her shit.

She's my new favorite on MSNBC. At the very least, one of my co-favorites, along with Rachel Maddow. Rachel does a lot of that, too, like the time she wound up bearing down, HARD, on one question that the oiled eel Rand Paul refused to answer. She threw out all her other questions to focus on trying to get to the bottom of that with him. And that's part of the job, as Chuck Todd and others have yet to realize.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Donald Trump would never allow her to interview him. She would send him home with his tail between his legs, just like she does with his surrogates.

She was brilliant. Steve, the Trump surrogate, tried very hard to make his points but every time he said something that wasn't true, Joy called him on it. She doesn't hesitate - she just does it. Her panel was top notch. And Joy was clearly having so much fun because the quality of the discussion was far above most of what I typically see on MSNBC.

She and Rachel are the best. Top-rate intellect, super quick thinking, and not shy about straightening folks out when it's needed.

I think she is gunning for a weekday afternoon slot. She's easily better than the guys on With All Due Respect. I wish she had a prime time slot, but that's not likely.

I don't think Joy was on air long enough for any commentary at the time the OP was posted.
It was two hours, a lot to comment on or I'd help out. Suffice it to say, Joy is terrific.

talk to a Trump surrogate as if she was that teacher who never lets anyone get away with crap. She even told one guy on camera that they had talked about this before the show - very patient, but firm. I'm waiting for her to make them write on the blackboard, "I will answer the question without deflecting" 100 times!

She has been amazing and MSNBC must know that as they are giving her a lot of airtime.

but I saw the one where she visited the Star Trek convention. I am so grateful that finally someone is not allowing the "Democrat Party" slur.

My greatest fear is that MSNBC will either fire her or not renew her contract. She has gone far, far beyond any other host on msnbc. In fairness, in not letting guests run over her, in making sure that folks are challenged when they try the 'hate Hillary' approach.

But right now i am watching the 2 hr CNN "Essential Hillary" show. She has an amazing story. Be sure to watch it however you can if you aren't tuned in now.

I find her show very cathartic. Finally someone has the guts to hold Trump and Co. accountable. It's the stuff I wish I could say to these people. After watching non-stop Hillary bashing on pretty much every other show, Joy is a breath of fresh air.

....just loved it that she wouldn't let him make up "facts" about Clinton on a Saturday news show. She cut him off with a very curt "You don't get to make up your own facts on this show." In other words, thanks for playing - you're done.

Just.Love.Her.

She needs her own prime time show.
