2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumYet another scandal. Why Hillary met with DOW's CEO, a million+ donor to the Clinton Foundation.
He was lending his airplane for Bill to use when he went to North Korea on a successful mission to free two American hostages. But the NT Times and the rest of the media still breathlessly reported Judicial Watch's take on the meeting -- that it is always bad whenever the Foundation donors and the State Department connected on anything.

In one exchange in July 2009, Ms. Abedin told Mrs. Clintons scheduler that Mr. Clinton wants to be sure that Mrs. Clinton would be able to see Andrew Liveris, the chief executive of Dow Chemical, at an event the next night. Dow Chemical has been one of the biggest donors to the Clinton Foundation, giving $1 million to $5 million, records show.
Ms. Abedin arranged what she called a pull-aside for Mr. Liveris to speak with Mrs. Clinton in a private room after she arrived to give a speech, according to the emails, which did not explain the reason for the meeting.
The person with knowledge of the issue said that this email chain also related to Mr. Clintons North Korea trip because Mr. Liveris had offered to let Mr. Clinton use his private plane.

(3,335 posts)At what point does some Court declare Larry Klayman and his Judicial Watch a public nuisance and start fining him for his nuisance lawsuits and inquiries.
I recall reading about a month ago, here on DU that the State Dept had hired 44 people to respond to all the FOIA requests submitted to the State Department from when Hillary worked there and from what I gather, the requests continue to pour it. I read this within the past month, and the article was about a Judge not willing to give the State Dept any additional time to respond to FOIA requests. The article said that the people hired to fill these requests were former government workers who were hired as retired annuitants to deal with the volume of requests and the law limits the amount of hours they can work in any given year, so they had to give them some time off from the job they were working. The article also stated that the State Dept said that the people were exhausted from all the work and they needed the time off. With the Judge denying their request for an extension, they needed to hire more employees. Anyone who pays taxes should be pissed at this abuse of the law.
The Dems never pull this type of shit when they are in power. Too busy trying to get the public's work done I guess. But when Repugs start bitchin about the cost of government, they have no one but themselves and their bullshit agendas to blame.

(108,978 posts)for it. And then they blame the State Department for being too slow, as if they have nothing better to do with their time or money.
