I think the Hillary campaign really launches this week ...

... In years past, I remember reading articles from campaign officials about the danger of campaigns peaking too early. For the last month, Hillary has laid pretty low, basically building up her ground game, running a few commercials, and not really sticking her neck out too far. But, now the campaign begins in earnest. In some states, early voting starts this month.

For me, some of the questions are:
- How will Hillary's most influential surrogates (Barack, Bernie, and Bill, among others) be deployed?
- How will she deal with the dissecting of her emails to make it sound like she committed a thousand crimes?
- How will she connect with millennials?
- How will she challenge Trump's connection with working class whites?
- How will she conduct a debate during which it's possible that Trump will change his positions at least temporarily?
- How will she address Trump's efforts to make inroads into minority communities?
- How will she generate a level of excitement that matches the excitement for Trump given that Hillary is playing to a broad base, including moderate Republicans?
- How will she combat Trump's illusion of being a straight talking guy and the appeal of him speaking off-the-cuff, while she appears more calculating?
- How will she get the media to focus on policies, experience, knowledge, and demeanor, rather than on the constant parade of b.s. that generates good ratings?
- Will she continue to try to expand the map, or is that a bluff?
- What weapons (dirt on Trump) does her campaign have in store?
- How will she overcome the sexism, our historical resistance to putting women in positions of power?

To me, these are all campaign strategy questions. She has a good team, made up campaign staff who worked for her in 2008, Obama in 2008 and 2012, and on a number of other successful races. But, elections are fundamentally a sport, and the battle is really over only a small subset of voters. How will the Hillary campaign win the game?

We're in for an exciting couple of months.
