CARSON CITY A federal judge has denied a request by the Nevada Green Party and its presidential candidate, Jill Stein, to gain access to the states Nov. 8 general election ballot.
U.S. District Judge Jennifer Dorsey said in a ruling dated Thursday that the Green Party waited until less than two weeks before the deadline to start collecting signatures to qualify to place candidates on Nevadas 2016 ballot. When the partys June 3 petition came up 647 signatures short after the verification process was completed, the complaint was filed seeking to overturn a decision by Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske rejecting ballot access.
Dorsey said historical evidence demonstrates that reasonably diligent candidates have often achieved and thus can gain a place on Nevadas general-election ballot under Nevadas minor-political-party ballot-access laws.

Considering this is one of the very few battleground states where Trump had a reasonable shot, I can't say I'm broken up about the ineptitude of the Green Party in collecting signatures.

(962 posts)Good. One less place for her to try and rat f*#k the Democratic party. She better be careful though. As much money as Putin is throwing her way he won't tolerate that kind of incompetence for long. She better be looking over her shoulder for someone carrying a pellet gun shaped like an umbrella.
