Thanks so much for this.
I talk about this a lot to people who will listen.
Most have no idea and aren't happy when they learn of it.
This is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT and, basically, untold stories there is.

Our media has been drastically changed and not for the good.
But, before anything can possibly be done about it, people have to know about it.

I hope you plaster this everywhere!

electorate, and they do want to prop up pro-corporate agendas, since those are one in the same as their own financial interests, but they are agnostic about party. I don't think they actually want somebody as destabilizing as Trump in the White House. He isn't good for the establishment, because his effect, while it will certainly be shitty for everybody, will also be shitty for them. If they can make this close, they'll finally do their job in the weeks leading up to the election and take him down.

Don't get me wrong. They do not treat democrats and republicans equally in their coverage. They are happy to ignore republican corruption and to look for every trumped up opportunity to paint "the liberals" as corrupt--never where democrats actually are compromised, like say with campaign finance that these corporations provide pretty heftily to both sides(though probably not equally)--always in ridiculous displays of absurdly bad journalism like about Bengazi or the Clinton emails or White Water, etc.

by laying siege to democrats and fostering a WWE-event like atmosphere, the media has created a team sport that is far less about policy, and more about good guys versus bad guys, no matter what side you're on. And because the media focuses on bullshit, this either provides cover for pro-corporate(or at least sympathetic) politicians to focus away from following the money, or makes it impossible for anybody who wants to do this to do so. It has been very instrumental in moving the Democratic party right on all fiscal issues for the last thirty five years, which has manifested as a steady attrition of labor values through "necessary compromise." The media has so successfully made "class-warfare" such a dirty word that we've had to forgive democrats for not waging it, which has successfully boiled our elections down to fighting the symptomatic culture war, rather than the fundamental illness that is feeding it. So long as we're embroiled in that fight, the media conglomerates don't really care too much whether there's a D or an R after a politicians name, because they tend to still win.

An interesting side-effect of this though, is that they've done such a good job of propping up shitty republicans that they actually need democrats in office to fix the damage that these incompetent fools do when they get to run the asylum for 4 or 8 years. And of course, doing damage control effectively ties the hands of democrats to actually effect big change, which again, is either really frustrating for them, or very convenient, and from the sidelines, I'm still trying to figure that out after all these years of voting democrat and hoping.

Still, there's incompetent and then there's Trump. Multi-national corporations don't want somebody as capricious and wild to be affecting our global relationships, and our market by his un-disciplined words alone.
