2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAfter Obama’s Re-Election, Religious Right Demands Repentance and Resistance
Dejected, downcast and angry, conservatives have begun attacking the media and other Christians for not signing on to the anti-Obama campaign, maintaining that Obamas re-election proves that America is experiencing moral breakdown. Family Research Council head Tony Perkins told talk show host Janet Mefferd that the election results reveal symptoms of a deeper moral and spiritual problem that were facing in our nation, and beseeched Christians not to just go on the mountaintop and just wait for the Rapture.
.....
Tony Perkins declared that if the Supreme Court legalizes it Christian conservatives will never accept it because, like abortion, they know that "it's unnatural for two men to be married." If the Court strikes down the anti-gay marriage amendments passed by various states over overrules the will of the people, Perkins warned that it could lead to "revolution" and "just break this nation apart":

Things are about to get VERY interesting in the GOP over the next few years. Barry Goldwater's words are ringing more and more true: "Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and theyre sure trying to do so, its going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they cant and wont compromise. I know, Ive tried to deal with them.
The religious right does not care that its position social issues are now costing votes. The GOP like any political party is about winning elections and that requires adapting. But their base is of full people who do not compromise. We saw a rebuke of their "values" with four states supporting same sex marriage, but the GOP's strongest support comes from states that are years from supporting it. If in 2016 and they try to moderate its stance social issues, I think we could see a Republican version of the Dixiecrats(with Perkins and Co leading the charge) where the ultra right of the GOP forms it own party.

Because it's NEVER GOING TO FUCKING HAPPEN.
A black guy is president, most people think you're idiots, and when you die you're gonna be fucking worm food.
Now grow up you pathetic douchebags and face reality. You'll actually find that you are a lot happier when you think for yourself.
