Has any journalist called Trump out on this statement?

Warning of 'war' on farmers, Trump seeks support in Iowa

"Hillary Clinton wants to shut down family farms just like she wants to shut down the mines and the steelworkers," he said in front of a wall of straw bales at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. "She will do this not only through radical regulation, but also by raising taxes on family farms - and all businesses - to rates as high as nearly 50 percent."

The mindless and ignorant morons and idiots among Trump's supporters will lap this up without realizing that under Article I Section 8 Clause 1 of the Constitution of the United States, only Congress is granted the power to to raise or lower taxes, and that the president is powerless to do this. In fact, the powers of the executive branch, as delineated in the Constitution are quite limited compared to those of Congress and certainly do not include the power to impose taxes.

I am not sure if Hillary has made any similar statements claiming that Trump will lower taxes on the wealthy if he is elected. All I could find is that she has accused him of proposing such cuts. In any case I have yet to hear or read of any journalist calling anyone out when they ascribe powers to the presidency that are not contained in the Constitution, and that is just another indication of the sad state of journalism in this country. I makes me want to tear out what hair I have left.

Nixon's EPA was given a lot of power since Nixon was so powerhungry.

That may be true, but Trump made the explicit claim that Hillary, as president, would raise taxes, stating very clearly that this would be in addition to any regulatory efforts to extract revenue:

"She will do this not only through radical regulation, but also by raising taxes on family farms..."

I think $10M is exempt from those taxes now, and the Republicans want to change that so your heirs can keep all those ill-gotten bonuses for themselves. IMO

That is another ridiculous Trump statement! It is hard to decipher the garbage that comes out of his mouth, but I know that he and his ultra-wealthy cronies would like to pass on their excess millions to their children. As it stands now, inheritances of $10M and under pay no or low income tax on that, but every dollar above $10M is heavily taxed. He's in Iowa, and "Family farm" in Republicon translates to "Corporate farm" and that is who he's looking out for. And, of course, looking out for himself.
