Ex-Staffer Alleges Trump Misused Funds, Set Up Fake Company

A former Donald Trump campaign staffer says in response to a Trump lawsuit against him that the campaign may have broken laws against mingling corporate and campaign funds.

Sam Nunberg, in a legal answer to a $10 million lawsuit claiming Nunberg violated a confidentiality agreement, said Trump may have illegally funneled corporate money into the campaign, and created a fictitious company that was listed as a plaintiff in the lawsuit.

Nunberg was fired from Trump’s presidential campaign last summer, after it was revealed that he had posted racist messages on Facebook. Trump’s lawsuit against him, made public on Wednesday, claims Nunberg in May told the New York Post about a public screaming match between two top Trump staffers: campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks, and Trump’s then-campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski. Nunberg vehemently denies leaking the story.

It is very strange how these stories about Donald Trump seem to appear and then disappear never to be investigated again. Why does the news media and its reporters seem to forget to do follow up reporting on Donald Trump's corruption?

got rid of their investigative journalism departments years ago, and thus don't even know how to go about doing what's necessary, so they just use old debunked stuff.

The FEC allows a candidate to rent space in his own building to his campaign. What stands out here is Trump's asshole landlord tripled his rent as soon as the candidate went from 100 percent self-financing to accepting contributions.

At the time the lawsuit was filed in May, Trump was relying on Corey Lewandowski, his campaign manager who was subsequently fired. Lewandowski advocated the suit as a way to make sure his relationship with Hicks ― which Nunberg’s filing calls a “sordid and apparently illicit affair” ― didn’t become public, the adviser said.

Trump normally doesn't settle lawsuits, but he settled this one.

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump reached a confidential settlement with a former political consultant he accused of violating a nondisclosure agreement, concluding his latest attempt to use the legal system to enforce the silence of his employees.

Trump launched the legal dispute with Sam Nunberg in late May by seeking $10 million in damages from the former aide in a private arbitration proceeding. Nunberg responded by filing a countersuit in New York state court last month.

On Friday, attorneys on both sides declined to provide further details about the settlement.
