She invited the Bigot-in-Chief to her biggest event of the year. I hope we don't forget this in 2020.

(1,351 posts)It blows living here. We keep being stuck with R pols.
Gov - Branstad (been governor for more years than any governor of any state in history - I have no idea how)
Sen - Grassley (he'll be 83 in a couple of weeks...they always run dorks against him...bet you anything he wins in Nov & runs again in 6 years when he's about 90...our great D senator, Tom Harkin, retired b/c he thought he was too old...he was only 75)
State Sen - Blum (local state senator...I don't know how the polling looks, but my guess is he'll win re-election...we could never get the previous R rep, Jim Nussle, out of office either...it was only when he ran for Gov in 2006 that we got a good one, Bruce Braley, in office)
We almost never seem to have good people to run. Braley was very good, but he made one comment that got him in hot water, so we got stuck with (whatever people liked about her) - folksy, was in National Guard, first female, whatever.

Ernst smiled when asked if Trump will ride a motorcycle, perhaps envisioning the scene. I will be the only one riding, she said."
